Can not change channels or use numeric pad - Samsung Bn59-01041a Remote Control

First of all

1. **Power On/Off:** Use the "Power" button.

Use the numerical key pad. The same 0~9 buttons as for changing channels.

Press the STATUS KEY

With the numeric key pad key in 10871087 (if done correctly the display will change and say ENTER MAINTENANCE ITEM)

Enter 201 with the numeric key pad (follow the steps below):
1. Press the start key. 2. Select the [INITIALIZE].
3. Press the start key.
4. Press the center of the + keys. Be sure to press three + keys displayed in order. The touch panel is adjusted automatically.
5. Press the indicated three + keys, and then check the display.
6. Press the stop key. The screen for selecting a maintenance item No. is displayed.
Completion Press the stop key. The screen for selecting a maintenance item No. is displayed.

Now to exit maintenance mode key in 001 with the numeric key pad

Press the Start Key ( you should be back to the status screen, press copy key to go back to the copy mode)

Remember do not go to any other maintenance mode or make any other changes.

replace remote or take it apart and clean it with cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol. If this doesnt help
the problem may be in the dvd itself.

change the numeric keypad buttion

The key in the top-left of the numeric-pad enables/disables the numeric keypad. Press it once, to make the keypad function as a numeric-pad.

In the system setup (F2 at boot) look for Numlock settings, there should be an option to change the key combination for numlock

If you are using a cordless numeric pad, it likely came with a USB connector. Plug the USB connector in. This should automatically install with Windows plug and play.

You should then be able to punch the numbers in just like you would on a keyboard when you have excel open.
