Plug the tip of the USB charging cable into the power charger port and plug the other end into the USB Power Adapter. Plug the USB Power Adapter into an electrical outlet. You will know that it is completely charged when the orange light on the charge indicator turns green.
Try resetting your Kindle. Turn off first then hold power button down for about fifteen seconds and it does a reset. This should correct the problem. Make sure you have a charger made for Kindle and not a generic one.
