The more activity the freezer and fridge see, the more cold escapes. If the freezer defrost system gets issues (broken defrost heat coil, stopped up vents, frozen peas in coils) things slow down. Find the defrost timer and mark the knob on it with white-out to see if it moves. It moves very slowly, one rotation a day.

First i would clean the machine per manufacturers instructions with nickel safe cleaner and sanitizer. When the plates get dirty it will cause ice to hang on to plate. Also check the thickness of ice if to thick it will not come off plate.

Icematic n201. water constantly flowing in over where ice is formed,i take it that shouldnt be happening when ice is being made. any suggestions?

Water is continuously pumped over the evaporator during the freeze cycle. When the machine enters the HARVEST cycle the purge valve opens dumping mineral laden water out the drain.

My cme 256a8 model scotsman ice melts to fast will not fill my 250 lb. bin in four days. What is the problem? in a hour run time it makes 7 lbs of ice and 4 lbs. water. in one dump cycle it makes 3 lbs...

There are a couple of things to check. The machine must be level. You can remove the front cover and the plastic sheet that covers the plate where the ice is made. Check to see that the water is flowing from the manifold at the top of the plate. You may have to pop the hose off the end of that manifold to clean the water holes out. It must flow evenly over the plate. Probably the most common problem is the radiator coil there the fan draws air through is clogged up so that it can't dissapate heat properly. You should be able to feel a lot of hot air moving through the coils. The fan cycles on and off periodically to maintain a certain pressure in the freon. That is normal. Clean the fan coils and level the machine.
