SOURCE: Zebra 2844 Not printing at all

Antztech,
if the red light is coming on and staying on, it might be a sensor problem. Try pushing on the lid and see if the light goes to green. If it does, it' s the gap sensor. This is how the printer "reads" the labels gaps-the little spaces between the labels. We've solve this in the short term by covering the sensor and manually setting the gap through the programming command prompt,

SOURCE: Zebra 105sl - printer does not print correct size

This can happen if you have the wrong dpi setup. For instance the 105sl can be either 203dpi or 300dpi. If your printhead is 300dpi and the label you create is expecting 203dpi, then you will see shrunken label. Your situation doesn't exactly sound like this is the case but it may be worth checking.

SOURCE: Manual calibration of labels not

Press pause and feed keys and turn on the printer, release the keys until it begins to move the label. Expected to finish printing, the printer was calibrated.

SOURCE: Zebra 105SL label issues

I am surprised that you are using that sequence of buttons to solve this problem. I am pretty sure that they want you to go into the "Media Sensor Calibration" setup in the config menu. It is a bit more complicated than what you have described. I also believe that the size of the gap on two of your labels might be out of tolerance (they are usually 1/8" gaps between the labels). The black marks are a problem for the transmissive sensors. You may need to move the transmissive media gap sensor (remember it has two parts: upper and lower). I would usually setup mine for a place beyond the black mark so that you are looking at just the white paper.

To start out:
1. Load the backing of a 6" strip of media (no label attached).
2. Remove a ribbon (if you usually use one).
3. Close the printhead.
4. Press SETUP/EXIT and then NEXT/SAVE until "Media and Ribbon Calibrate" appears.
5. Press "+" to start the calibration procedure. You should see the "Load Backing" in the LCD Display. You already have the backing loaded so continue to the next step.
6. Press "+" to answer the message and the next screen should say, "Remove Ribbon". You have also removed the ribbon.
7. Press the "+" to continue. You should see the screen say, "Calibrating Please Wait". After the sensors are setup by the machine a new screen should appear, "Reload All".
8. Open the printhead, and move the labels until they are loaded correctly to print. Smooth out the ribbon and load it correctly.
9. Withe media and ribbon now loaded, press "+" to continue and the machine should say, "Media and Ribbon Calibrate".
10. Press the Setup/Exit button once. It should say, "Save Changes Permanent". Press Next/Save to finish the process.
11. Do a normal calibration of your stock and print a label.

You are done. The machine will run for the labels you have setup the sensors for. Unfortunately, you must do this for each of the media types. To automate this, you could run a Configuration listing, capture the settings you just created for each type of label. Take these to a programmer to have them send the setup to the machine before the job. This is beyond the scope of this type support to really help you.

My Zebra ZDesigner LP2844 feeds a blank label after printing a label. How do I make it stop doing that?

Define your label size correctly. Measure your LABEL exactly, do not include the backing paper or the gap. Calibrate the printer. HOW?
Power off printer. Press and hold the green feed button down and power printer on. Count one, two and release green button. The printer will calibrate and move labels and then print some stuff on the label. Wait until it has comletely stopped. wait another few seconds and the press the feed key once. The printer will print "out of dump". You should now be ready to print again.

Print dosent stop

u have to create your label at printer properties.
if prints doesn't fix your label, this problem appears.
( for 80x40 cm barcode: open printer properties-printing defaults - label size - new custom size or new label - write your sizes at size fileds- and save)
open your app, and create new file, type your sizes for new file, and print it!

Zebra S400 does not keep the calibration settings. After calibrating or restoring factory settings (like described in the manual) first label prints OK (using BarTender software) then it's off again. Same...

After you calibrate the printer. Press feed a few times. If it feeds a single label each time, then the calibration was successful.Power off and on while holding the cancel button. (config printout). Keep config for reference. Send label print from computer. If it does not work, then check that the printer driver matches the config printout. The computer printer driver will change and overide the settings in the printer

HELLO: PRINTS ONE LABEL

This could have a couple of different causes. Best thing to do is determine if the problem is with the printer or the software. Turn the printer off and back on again. After the power-on self test is done, just press the feed key. Does the printer feed just one label ? If so, then you know the printer has a good calibration on the size of the label. Now print a label. Does it skip one after printing ? If it does, now you know the problem is in the software because the printer is only going to do what it’s told to do. Check all settings in the label software / printer driver to make sure label size is accurate, correct printer driver is being used, etc.

So first check to see if the printer is ok by itself. If it feeds two labels after powering up, then the calibration is needs to be redone. Also make sure the media sensor is positioned over the label. This can cause skipping as well if out of position.

Hope that helps !

IT PRINT A LABEL THEN SKIPS A LABEL THEN PRINTS A LABEL

You need to make sure the media and ribbon are installed correctly, and then make sure the printer is calibrated. Once you verify the media is correct, power off the printer and then back on. It should feed a few labels. Then press the button to feed again to make sure it feeds only one. If it does, then the printer is set. Now, when you go to print, if it still acts up, you need to check either the driver settings or the software settings. Label size could be set incorrectly.

Prints out 2 labels at once

I've seen this be due to dirty sensor or misconfigured media setting.  Clean the sensor in the middle of the edge on the inside and outside of the printer, then if still having trouble - Inside the printer it should tell you that if you are having printing trouble:
  1. turn off the printer
  2. Hold down the feed button
  3. turn on the printer and at the third red flash release the feed button
  4. it will then feed some pages print some info and ask you to hit feed again to exit dump
  5. hit feed again and it will say exiting dump
You have just made it reconfigure media, and it may know when to stop feeding now.

Zebra printer prints too short.

If I remember correctly I corrected the same problem. What I did was opened printers and faxes and selected the printer. I then went into properties where you can select the size of label you are printing out. Once you do that the printer should align itself to the right size.
