Hello AnyMoose:

I have an entire web page covering many issues with the Palm Z22, and data connectivity is one of them. The ANSWER above of the CompanionLink software is one which I had not seen until now, and I will add it to all the resources listed on my page...

Other solutions include the software from ACEECA, the PALM Z22 connection software from Hewlett Packard, in conjunction with the Virtual Windows XP software, with technical notes from USERS, all listed on my web page...

http://kidbots.com/WEBADD/Z22_PALM_PILOT/Z22_PALM_PILOT.html

Hopefully, once you read over all the data, you will get all the data to- and from- your Palm Z22...

As well, tips and suggestions are included on the Battery problems, the touch screen issues, and other quirks with the Z22 as it ages!

hope this helps...

good luck

SOURCE: Outlook calendar will not synch to handheld

Here are two resource pages which hopefully will help. The first is Palm support page with an update to download for users of Outlook 2003. The second is a discussion thread of Treo users troubleshooting the same problem. Even if the PDA is different, the issue (and error code) is practically the same, Rather than cut and paste what I think is relevant, read the thread and see if one of the solutions listed helps you.

http://discussion.treocentral.com/archive/index.php/t-96051.html

Let us know how you make out.

PS - What PDA, operating systems (PC and PDA) and version of Outlook are you using?

SOURCE: Handheld Calendar Does Not Sync

Is KsDatebook compatible with Palm? Palm suggests only two programs to sync calender files with Microsoft Outlook and the one that comes with the TX CD.

SOURCE: can't transfer infor from palm to desktop

Try going to the Palm home page (www.palm.com) and reinstalling the desktop software. Once you have it reinstalled then do a hotsync. I had the same problem and this worked for me. Hopefully it will clear the problem.
Best wishes.

I updated the Palm m130 to Z22. I lost all my addresses on the m130 whe installing the Z22. Is there anyway to retrieve the lost file?!

The solution to this problem is.. if the m130 still has all the data, then

you need to perform a custom hotsync to overwrite all files on the computer

  1. Click on the ‘Hotsync Manager’ icon and choose ‘Custom’.
  2. Highlight the ‘Datebook’ conduit and click ‘Change’.
  3. Select ‘Handheld overwrites desktop’ and click ‘OK’.
  4. Repeat these steps for the ‘Address’, ‘Todo’, ‘Memo’ and ‘System’ conduits.
  5. ‘Install’ and ‘Install Service Templates’ should be ‘Enabled’.
  6. Perform a ‘Hotsync’ operation by pressing the button on the Hotsync® Cradle, or Cable.

Now that the files are on your computer you need to sync them into the new palm

Same steps but this time Desktop Overwrites handheld

  1. Click on the ‘Hotsync Manager’ icon and choose ‘Custom’.
  2. Highlight the ‘Datebook’ conduit and click ‘Change’.
  3. Select ‘Desktop overwrites Handheld’ and click ‘OK’.

Hotsyncing Z22 device with Palm Desktop

Check what is the action set to address book (contacts) conduit in the HotSync manager in System tray, make sure that it is set to "Synchronize the files" or you can change it to "desktop overwrite handheld" then perform a Sync.

Hot synch to new computer

If you right click on the hotsync icon in your status bar, you can set each of the sync options to "handheld overwrites desktop." That should stop you losing data.

Hot sync problem with bookmarks

I think the computer overwrites the handheld. You could avoid this by following this steps:
- right click hotsync icon on Windows system tray
- choose "custom"
- double-click the application you need to change
- and change it to "handheld overwrites desktop"

Just that simple :)

Any way to reverse synchronization?

If you happen to have rollback turned on in Windows XP, you could roll back your PCs data to before the last HotSync date/time.

Overwrite all calendar events

Selct Desktop overwrite Handheld. You can change the way the synchronisation takes place for all applications, either from the palm desktop application or from the status icon in the taskmanager bar. There are different options: - Synchronize - Handheld overwrite desktop - Desktop overwrite handheld - Do Nothing If the PC is up-to-date and you want to use these data you should select the "Desktop overwrite Handheld". This will clear the handheld calender and replace with the data from the pc/desktop

Cannot SYNC Outlook Calendar and Contacts

Probably one of these issues - your data is there but you are looking in the wrong place. I am trying to sync my outlook calendar and contacts via Hotsync on a Palm IIIc. It gives me the status of OK, but nothing shows up on the Palm. I have set the custom on Hotsync to desktop overwrites handheld, but still will not work. Thanks.
