Badger 5-81 motor buzzing, blades spinning, won't grind

Replace the whole thing. They are not that expensive and are easy to replace. The issue could be bad motor part or the shaft came loose from the grinding disk.

Tiny piece of rock or glass or bone that rattles but wont go down the drain. How do I use the s wrench that came with the disposal to open up the drain to allow the tiny bit to go down the drain? THANK...

The wrench is for turning the motor when it has become stuck. If it's rattling, the motor isn't stuck. You need to remove the rattling piece from above. Get a flashlight and a stick with a piece of chewing gum on the end. Poke it down into the disposal until it picks up the offending item. Good luck.

I have a Badger 5 1/2 HP and it makes a humming sound when I turn the on switch. I've tried the reset button and it doesn't help. It doesn't appear anything is stuck. Any advice? Thanks!

Garbage disposle makes a humming noise when turned on. InSinkErator Badger 5, 1/2 HP Garbage Disposal

Did you also hear any clattering sounds when it started? If so, it is rotating. If not then this hum is the motor in the lock rotor stage. Did you place garbage in it yet? Always run cool water in it when starting it.

InSinkErator Badger 5hp NOISY

If it were me I would remove the disposal, turn it upside down and see what comes out. Would I run it with something in it making a lot of noise? Absolutely not. If something is loose in it, it could harm the disposal.
