Radio navigation system

Is it possible to get a virus in a radio/nav system? My radio freezes up frequently, then reboots itself after a few minutes and plays fine for a while and then does it again. I cannot enter an address in the GPS as the more times I enter something, the faster it freezes. Occasionally it will display a message saying that memory is full.

SOURCE: computer restarts itself

boot into safe mode. a lot of times safe mode will load itself w/o the virus doing any damage. boot into safe mode and do a scan with the avast anti-virus and then do a boot virus scan with avast as well.

SOURCE: the gps navigation screen freezes when launched

Here is how to Fix the GPS

Go To Web. Click on Live Search. Say any business or service name, Target, Walmart, Pizza, Mcdonalds, etc. Click on one of the finds. When the address pops up, click on the little car icon. Then it takes you to GPS. From now on GPS works.

SOURCE: When turned on a purple

Unplug your receiver for two minutes. When the first screen pops up I think it says acquiring satellite info do the following.
With the remote press menu then go to settings then setup then reset and press restart everything .
Just remember to reset your times and settings on the dvr.
It may not work right away, just keep trying, including unplugging the infernal machine!

in your post you said fuses are good (tested too)
have you checked and reseated the connectors on the OBJECTS that fail>?? (that is free to do)

we now learn many things fail on car,
even HEAD LIGHTS?????
and no statement of what works. in total!
does car drive perfect night and day?????
just a clue here, and win big. huh>?

I can't drive your car and see all those many things failing,& that are. ok .. and what does not fail....

but this car has CAN-bus (or the like)
a NETWORK for sure, and bus structured.

and does not work like some 1990 Vitara.
at all, not even close to same. (forget them...)
it's a BUS system.
each switch you throw sends a command on the bus.
it's failing I bet because of communication errors
that you fail to see because you did not use a real scan tool at the time of failure.
it must be scanned while failing !

cant fix it if its not broke,...(unless you drive
scan and log data. like i do all the time for all intermittent of any kind....)

does it fail engine running?
is running battery voltage at 13.3 to 15vdc
if voltage is low all computers in car will go nuts. (same with your cell phone)
this is a fact and what i check first?
valid battery voltages first.
2nd after fuses, (done already)
then scan it. using a real scan tool
not some relic.
a real tool can see all CAN buss errors
U codes top the list.

P1,p2, p3 and B codes too.... all seen.
failing.

you can buy tools
rent tools
or get the car scanned failing at any ASE shop.
car parts store may have junky or relic tools.
(i can name 10 that are)
some tools only do old federal P0xxx codes. say some old 1996 tool.

try a real shop and win. really

Radio/Nav is malfunctioning; unresponsive, shuts down/reboots, slow to react to inputs

The only thing that you can do is remove the unit and send it out to a factory approved repair shop, that is it no other choices.

Sorry, no answer. But you're not alone, my 2006 is displaying the same issues; everything works, just no sound. Used to take a few minutes for the sound to start after turning on car, time increased to point that it the sound just doesn't work at all. Clicking noise is noticable when system is powered on.

Your radio/nav system needs a code. Go the your dealer's parts department , give them the VIN of your car( should be free $0). Punch in the code through the car radio and your radio/nav system should work right away.
