I drove 12 miles with truck in foru wheel low and now it is stuck

My truck was in four wheel low and I didn't know. I drove about twelve miles like that and know it is stuck in low. Is there any way to reset it, or do I need to call a mechanic??

You have to put the main shifter from park into neutral.
then move the electronic switch from 4 low to 2 wd.or the "auto" setting.
then move the shifter into reverse and back up about 10 feet.
put it in drive . good luck with it.

Is the engine running ? Can you shift the gears ?
May be something is broken in the drive train...
As a suggestion you can go home by locking the centre differential, proceeding at low speed and checking for noises .
Pls. let me know if it helps...

Imitsubishi shogun engaging 4 wheel drive

no year?
never drive, part time 4wd on pavement, unless said pavement
is ice or snow covered.
only AWD allows pavement (tires direct upon) driviing.
part time 4wd is for offroad , off pavement driving,
this is because 4wd has no center differential.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four-wheel_drive

and with out such, winds up the drive line fast. and breaks it.

wiki states (no year stated by you)
Part-time four-wheel drive was standard on all models. to 1991
then came
ActivTrak 4WD
cept
4H (high-range full time four-wheel drive), 4HLc (high-range four-wheel drive with locked center differential) and 4LLc (low-range four-wheel drive with locked center differential
so do not use LOCKED on pavement. on active track. only 4H
the wiki states the Super-select is retained 2006 to present.
Super-Select 4WD II

Transmission problem 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 58000 miles My Jeep has been having the same thing happening and I am being told nothing is wrong. When I start it in the...

a 700 code is a generic transmission code to the ecm. I can't believe the dealer didn't clear the codes out and try to find the problem. The symptoms your having sounds like a TCC solenoid. (torque converter clutch). It is stuck or malfunctioning. The first thing I would do is get a transmission additive and put it in. Lucas or TranX. About 10 bucks. These are seal conditioners and if you have a stuck piston this usually will help. It's a start, next would be a solenoid package, several hundred dollars. I have replaced a couple of these on low mile transmission. But it needs properly diagnosed first. Before you start throwing money in it.

I want to know about the power and the winter buttons. I want to know in the snow if I need to use the four wheel drive high or the four wheel drive low. I have a 1998 Honda Passport 4x4 automatic...

Four wheel High is what you need to use in snow. It is similar to your regular driving experience but your speeds should not exceed 45-50 mph. Shift through your normal gears as necessary and drive with appropriate caution. Four wheel High should be used only as long as driving conditions warrant, using it otherwise can cause unnecessary wear on your transmission and drive-train as well as lower fuel economy.

Four wheel low is used for pulling out of a ditch if you are stuck, going through deep mud or rock crawling. Four wheel low will also cause your vehicle to lurch every time you press the gas pedal.

sounds like you have a combonation trans and transfer case issues. if you were running youre truck in four wheel on a hard dry surface, witch is not recomended , the trans probibly ran hot. as for the transfer case, it could be a combination of problems. dash switch/ actuator/vacum switch/ vacum canister witch is under the battery tray. all have to work in unison. service the trans first. if the truck has high miles, add trans conditoner, if you do not, it will slip. then the transfer case. refer to youre owners man for oil specs. youre problems are not uneque as these trucks are notorius for unreiable four wheel actiuation. hope i was some help.

Wont shift back from 4x4 low, to 2x2

I also have a 2002 Envoy. Shifting to and from 4wh and 4wa can be done on the fly but shifting to 4wL has to be done stoped and while in neutral. Try that. Otherwise I'm afraid its a new computer for you. Its located under the left rear seat and you need a loan for one.

1993 4X4 BLASER 4WHEEL DRIVE

Your blazer is equipped with a shift on the fly four wheel drive. That means that at speeds less than fifteen miles per hour you can shift into or out of four wheel drive by simply pushing the four wheel high button. If you wish to shift into four wheel low. Stop, put the transmission into park or neutral, and push the four wheel low button. Same procedure for shifting back out. Never shift into or out of four wheel low while moving. And be careful in four wheel low. At full throttle your still barely moving, you don't want to blow your engine up!
