Can't find filler plug on transmission

I have a craftsman rear tine tiller w/a 5hp briggs & stratton. Model # 917.299752. I am trying to re-condition it back to an operable state, but without a user's guide I am lost as to where to insert gear oil into transmission (filler plug). Please help

Jim the older tillers did not have a place to put grease in. You have to break the case apart then it takes 00 grease. These are sealed units and don't need additional grease. Check with Sears.com parts lookup for a new manual. I am on my second Craftsman r/t tiller now rebuilt the transmission on the first and wore it completly out then bought a new about 8 years ago. About to rebuild the transmission on it.

I need a owners manual that gives the belt assembly for a Briggs & Stratton 5hp choremaster dub-l-tines.

Your best bet is to call your local small engine or outdoor power equipment dealer with a model number. The parts dealers can look up your belt in no time flat. 25330869-xrysbksmd4oe40lchygmaasz-4-0.jpg

Purchased hahn tiller 5hp briggs stratton with broken tines and bearing and seal leaks. where can i get parts

Parts for the engine can be purchased from briggs and stratton
The bearings and seal can be purchased from Napa. Dimensions are required for the bearing inner and outer diameters. (Caliper time)
The tines.... I don't know. My experience on the tines is you either find an old Hahn Eclipse Tiller for parts or you find a good craftsman that can make one. I had to make a LH tine using the broken parts, some forge hardened bar stock and a welder. The tine manufacture took much longer than expected...!

Ihave a craftsman 5hp(briggs&stratton) reartine tiller that won't

Hi.....I am assuming that you have a bowl type carberator on that tiller. If so, the bolt on the bottom of the bowl, is the main jet. If you remove it, you SHOULD, see a hole drilled from the top down to a hole cross drilled thru, near the bottom. Run a small wire thru these to be sure they are clean. Other then this, I'd install a new needle and seat. You can purchase just a needle and seat set, no need for a complete rebuile kit. You will also need a bowl gasket, and if you have a primer bulb, you will also need a new intake gasket or the primer will not work worth a darn. Hope this is of some help, good luck
