Check the "buffer" setting - set to the lowest number possible. You can't eliminate the "latency" but you can reduce it a lot. Also 0 try to monitor what you are recording with "live" sound (input instead of output) - also, you may need to download a different driver for your audio card, try ASIO4ALL

Why does my mixer take so long to select something from the menu and why does it freeze up?

Sounds like you need more ram or computer space. You didn't list what time of mixer or computer so can only answer basicly. If using a computer (which it sounds like) see how much the mixer needs andhow much space available on your hard drive. This is called a latency problem. Basicaly how long does it take for the computer to respond to commands while it is doing a task. either get a bigger hard drive and more ram or clear out some files on your computer. You can also go into settings and change the settings. You'll have to look through the manual on latency problems.

When I record & play it back my recording take is off beat

you have too much latency in your setup. Try using ASIO as your audio engine in your recording program. Also, shut down all unnecessary programs running on your computer to get better performance.

Im trying to choose my inputs: (under preferences, Device) begin input1 and end input should be 8, but it only shows 2. Assuming I chose my ASIO4all driver that indownloaded. I can also chose Directsound...

The reason it does not work is because the PV8USB only sends the main mix to the USB. You need a different sort of beast altogether to do what you are wanting.

Hello, I have a new black jack interface and Sony Acid studio on my PC with Windows XP. when I plug in an instrument, I can hear it in the headphones of the Blackjack, but not in the computer speakers. but...

Look at the setups for voice and audio in the Windows control panel, "Sounds and Devices". Make sure the devices are set to the sources and destinations you want... This is not automatic and is a pain when you are going back and forth from recording and playing...

When i record i can hear me very well but the beat has like a funny bass sound to it what can i do to stop it

If your mic can "hear" the beat, it will record it as well with a reverberation that will NOT be pleasing. Maybe you can use headphones to avoid that.

When i plug in my mp3 into the phonic system it doesnt play certain notes of songs and there is no bass

It sounds like the cables you are using, or the way you have it wired into the system are not correct. If you are using the stereo channels on the mixer, then the system also needs to be wired in stereo to the proper amp and speakers. Otherwise you hear the left or right side of the stereo mix, and not all of the music correctly.
Another problem may be the kind of cables you are using to wire the MP3 player to the mixer with. If you are using a 1/8" adapter to the MP3 player, make sure it is a STEREO 1/8" adapter, and that both left and right channels are plugged into the mixer, preferably on the first two inputs to test and see that both channels are indeed coming through. Then you may move them to a stereo channel. Again, make sure that the system is wire in stereo in order to hear both sides, Good Luck

When i record thru my mxl genesis mic with the mixer i get like a loud distorton. Im using magix 14 ,and i have downloaded the audio driver off the disc that came with the mixer....Help

It is likely you do not have the levels set correctly and are over driving the mixer. Reduce the trim settings using the PFL buttons and monitor the level indicators to insure you are not clipping.

With a condenser mic you CANNOT have any speaker in the room that the mic can hear of course. These mics are so sensitive. Your mixer and monitor speakers and recording will be in a separate room from the soundproof studio typically.

To monitor the system anywhere in the same room as the mic you MUST use headphones that do NOT leak sound or you will get feedback and distortion.

Hi im sorry if this sounds a little dumb!!! last weekend while i was on a gig i tried to hook up my lap top to my mackie mixer (cfx12) but i wasnt able to get winamp to play through it, which channels...

With a stereo splitter cable that takes the stereo 1/8 plug of the computer into two RCA plugs you could go into the "Tape Input" of the mixer... OR take a 1/8 stereo splitter cable from the PC splitting to a pair of 1/4 inch plugs go into one of the 4 stereo input pairs on the mixer... like 7 and 8 or 9 and 10 for example.

I bought mv 8800. I bought converter which converts from 250V-50Hz to 110v 50w So I get into my mv, with vga mode, and i see software with lags, not freezing but for example i play beat, it records not...

This is NOT likely to be a problem with the power source at all but more likely with some setup parameter. Search your manual for subjects like "quantize" and also sampling rates.

Thing is that im recording a song. After recording when i try to play it, it doesnt give any sound. Im positive that it records fine. Any solutions?

This is totally dependent on the software you are using to record.

Not knowing what you are using makes any response a wild guess.

IN GENERAL you must configure both the input and output device within the recording software you are using.

I use Sonar and one has to select the audio input and output device and tell the program which device is used for timing.
