I have a smeg oven model SE335SS-5 I think that the element has gone however there is no obvious damage to the element. When I was cooking the house circuit breaker tripped and the oven works fine apart...

This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
  2. If your Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

Hi, It looks as if my heating element on my AKZ446/IX oven has gone, as the fan, oven and grill work fine but no heat come out from the oven. I've seen on the online videos how to change the heating...

NEmmake sure you removed the correct item first
replace the oven element, located at the rear of the oven compartment, behind a removeable cover.

Wont get hot grill works think the element has

If it is a fan assisted oven, then it is probably the oven element that has failed.
This is usually located at the rear of the inner oven compartment behind a removeable panel

Hi right my indesit 29229 fan oven is not working it blow the power in the house now the top oven is work but the bottom one wont heat up the fans working and thats it do you think its the element thats...

To blow the house trips it must be the element

Thermostats do not normally go short circuit.

The elements can be replaced quite easliy and cheaply

I would check that the fan is turning freely before you buy the element

Main oven not heating.

You need to replace a faulty main oven element.
This is done by removing the rear cover in the main oven,
there you will see the element, disconnect and replace.
It is not a difficult job , and is not too expensive.

Fan in oven works but only warms the oven

If the element was gone completely then the oven would not heat up at all. If the element blew while the oven was on then that would explain why it was warm. Elements cost between £20-£40, plus any labour costs. You can find this out when you contact the repair shop. Another thing to consider though is that it could be the thermostat, which controls the heat. These cost from around £25 upwards again you would need to confirm this with the repair shop. All in all I think you are looking between £50 - £80 to get it repaired.
