It's possible that you have put the belt on in the wrong position. Especially if it was not fast before you replaced the belt.

It is probably belt driven and the belt is off or broken. Look underneath to check. You may have to remove the platter to see underneath. There is usually a snap clip at the center of the platter that can be removed to allow lifting the platter up.

SOURCE: need belt for pioneer pl-600

There's lot of sellers on E-Bay selling new belts have you tried there?
Also Curry's Partmaster website.
PS make a note of how it fits before you remove it. There's nothing worse than getting a new belt to fit when your not certain where it goes.

The speed switch results in same slower speed than 33 rpm when set to 33 or 45, and 78 is slower than 78 rpm, but faster than 45 rpm

Assuming it is a belt driven turntable I suspect the belt has slipped out of position. It might need adjusting or replacing. If you do need to replace it make a note of how it fits, even though it could be in the wrong position. It's a starting point for putting the new one in the right position.

Brand new crosley keepsake that spins too fast even at its slowest speed setting (33 1.2). Can I fix or should I send it back for repair?

If it is belt driven it could be that the belt is not moving to the smaller diameter pulley for the slower speed. But the unit is new so I would just return it for an exchange at the store it was purchased from. It is new - the heck with a repair - just get another one!

I have a Pioneer PL Z94 turntable that was working perfectly until belt snapped. Purchased new belt & stylus, fitted both, but when I came to play my records they speed up very fast on both 33 & 45. What...

The most likely cause is that the belt has been fitted in the wrong position.
If that is not the case, then you can look underneath the turntable at the base and see if you can see a speed pre-set (sometimes there are two, one for each speed). Turning this will adjust the speed. You might need a small screwdriver. Sometimes the hole for these pre-sets are covered with a sticker. If you find it, to get the speed right will be a case of trial and error. I find the best way to do this operation is to mount the turntable on a chair which has no seat in it. Thus meaning you can get to the underside while the disc plays.

Grundig 4400 / Audio Techinca T4P Turntable spins at 35 RPM instead of 33 RPM

I think you mean 45 rpm?
It sounds like you have got the belt in the wrong position. Try adjusting the position of the belt by experiment. Or you could look up the correct way to set up the belt.

Plays too fast

Either the speed switch is history or there is a belt problem. Get rid of it.

if the speed is constantly fast the drive belt may have ridden up on the top part of the motor pulley.inspect and refit.if the speed varies check operation of 33/45 switch.

Instructions for belt installation on pl-600

Kind of eerie that you are having the same problem I am, same turntable, almost at the same time! Actually I got the belt on but it keeps running up on the drive pulley, which makes the turntable turn way too fast.

Here's a video for basic installation which might help you, but it doesn't help my problem of how to make the belt stay where it is supposed to.

Strange speed

Well, there isn't much on this unit that controls the speed. It's either your belt or your motor that's gone or going bad. Try replacing the belt first. If you still have the same issue, you might need to have a tech look at it. The 33/45 switches might have also gone out, but it doesn't like this is the issue.

Hope this helps.
