How do i remove tray 1 to replace it? - HP Color Laserjet 3550 Printer

Remove the cassette and remove any torn paper that may be stuck in the cassette port.

Cycle power on the Printer.

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Wait 10 seconds.
3. Turn the printer on.
4. Determine if the issue still occurs.

If tray 1 is being used:

1. Remove and reseat the tray.
   To remove and reseat the tray, perform the following steps:
   1. Pull the 250-sheet tray out of the printer until it stops.
      
   2. Hold the tray with both hands, lift the front slightly, and remove it from the printer (Figure 1).

Re-insert the paper tray into the printer and push it until it stops (Figure 2).

How to clear the jam depends on where the jam is.

If the Jam is in Tray 1:
1. If you can see the jammed sheet, remove the jammed sheet by pulling it straight out.
2. If you cannot see the jammed sheet, open the tray 1 door and pull out tray 2.
3. Push down on two tabs to release the tray 1 panel.
4. Remove the jammed sheet by pulling it straight out.
5. Push up on two tabs to replace the tray 1 panel.
6. Replace tray 2.

If the Jam is in Tray 2:
1. Pull out tray 2 and place it on a flat surface.
2. Remove the jammed sheet by pulling it straight out.
3. Replace tray 2.
4. Press OK to continue printing.

If the Jam is in the Fuser area:
1. Open the rear door.
2. Remove any jammed sheets.
3. Close the rear door.

If the Jam is in the Output Bin:
1. Look for jammed paper in the output bin area.
2. Remove any visible media
3. Open and then close the rear door to clear the message.

It is possible that the paper may tear when clearing the jam. Be sure to clear any paper fragments that tear off.

1. Remove paper from all output trays. Depending upon the options fitted to your device, the output trays are:
• Internal Tray 1 (basic configuration)
• External Tray
• Internal Tray 1
• Internal Tray 2
• Upper Tray - 1000-sheet Finisher
• Shift Tray - 1000-sheet Finisher
• Shift Tray 1 - 2500-sheet Finisher
• Shift Tray 2 - 2500-sheet Finisher
• Upper Tray - Booklet Finisher
• Shift Tray - Booklet Finisher
• Booklet Tray - Booklet Finisher
2. Locate the gray cables that are connected between finisher and main unit. Check that they are secure, and that the cables are in good condition.
3. Switch off the device at the red power switch.

C0202= tray 1 elevator failure.
Open tray 1, check and make sure paper is loaded correctly.
With tray open, open and close front door. This will reset error code. With tray 1 open look to see if paper is stuck behind tray in back of machine, if so remove it ( this will block the lift motor for the tray).
Close tray 1, if you hear a popping noise the lift motor is damaged and will have to be replaced. Until it is replaced operate machine with tray 1 out to prevent error code.

The following might work:

Switch off at mains, remove paper from tray 1, close tray 1, switch on, replace paper when prompted.

If you remove tray 1, is there a jam? When the printer is starting to print, does it sound like it is trying to pick up paper from the tray a few times, and then changes to the jam error? If so, then the pickup rollers are worn. You can confirm this by removing tray 1 and feeling the rollers which are located in the top of the tray in the front. If they feel smooth, then they need to be replaced.

1 Remove the following assemblies:
● Rear accessory cover. See Accessory covers and the tray 2 extension door.
● Top cover. See Top cover.
● Right-side cover. See Right-side cover.

● Paper-pickup drive assembly. See Paper-pickup drive assembly.
2 Unplug the tray 2 lifter-drive assembly connector from the dc controller PCA (location J93) and
the two flat cables (callout 1, locations J80, J81). Unweave the wire-harness from the cable
guide (callout 2).
NOTE You might have to remove additional wire-harnesses from the cable guide to gain
access to the lifter-drive assembly wire-harness.

3 Unhook the tension spring (callout 3) at the lifter-drive assembly, remove one screw (callout 4),
and then slide the support plate (callout 5) out of the printer.

4 Rotate the top of the lifter-drive assembly away from the printer to remove it from the printer.
NOTE You might have to remove some cable guides to easily remove the lifter-driver
assembly.

Daily Maintenance
1. Turn switch to OFF position and unplug the cord from wall outlet.
2. Lift the Water Tank from Base. Carefully remove the Water Tray from the base being
careful not to damage the delicate Wicking Filter. Empty excess water from the Water Tray
without removing the Wicking Filter. Remove the Tank Cap and drain any water from the
Water Tank. Rinse the Water Tank with lukewarm water after each use. Wipe accessible
surfaces of the Water Tank and Water Tray clean with a soft, damp cloth.
3. Do not immerse the Base in water. For storage, wipe dry with a soft, clean cloth. Keep
water away from the Air Outlet.
4. Do not leave water in the Water Tank or Water Tray when unit is not in use as it may
result in the build up of mineral deposits and bacteria that can inhibit the output
efficiency of the humidifier. Please note that if water remains in the Water Tank for more
than a day or two, bacterial growth is possible.
5. Replace Water Tray with Wicking Filter. Then replace the Tank. Humidifier is now ready for
use.
Weekly Maintenance
Removing Scale
1. Remove the Water Tank and empty any remaining water from the Water Tank.
2. Turn switch to the ON position, either low or high speed, and operate Humidifier until the
Wicking Filter is thoroughly dry.
3. Turn switch to the OFF position and unplug the cord from wall outlet.
4. Remove Wicking Filter from the Water Tray by carefully lifting straight up taking care not to
tear filter.
5. Remove the Water Tray from the Base. Fill Water Tray with undiluted white vinegar. Let
stand for 20 minutes.
6. Dampen soft, clean cloth or sponge with undiluted white vinegar and wipe out Water Tray
to remove scale. Do not use soap, detergents or abrasive cleaners.
7. Rinse the Water Tray thoroughly in clean warm water or put in top shelf of dishwasher to
remove scale and vinegar before disinfecting the Water Tray.

Disinfecting the Water Tray and Tank
1. Fill tank with 1 teaspoon of household bleach in 1 gallon of water. Let stand twenty (20)
minutes, shaking vigorously every few minutes, drain and rinse with clean water until the
bleach smell is gone. Dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
2. Wipe the Water Tray with a soft cloth dampened in the bleach and water solution. Rinse
the Water Tray thoroughly or place in dishwasher before proceeding.
3. Wipe all exterior surfaces of the Base with a soft, dry cloth. Do not immerse the Base in
water or use water to clean the base. An electric shock may result or the humidifier may
be damaged.
