Power Subwoofer doesn't work

I just plug a power subwoofer to the Yamaha digital sound projector YSP-900. The subwoofer doesn't. It is a brand new one. I tested it to another receiver; it works. Let me know how I can make the subwoofer works since the YSP-900 has the output jack for it.

Thanks

Two possibilities:
1. Your source material does not contain bass frequencies.
2. Your SUBWOOFER SET - BASS OUT is set to Front, rather than SWFR (subwoofer). See page 63 of the manual.

I get a loud static noise, when I first turn on the yamaha ysp-1. Lasts a few seconds. Have unplugged all inputs. Problem persists.

u have a cool sound projector but u have a baaaad power supply system. bad power supply design - u will get all sorts of noise when u power it up. i have a sub woofer with the same problem(which in my case is the way it is designed). i used a delay circuit. but in ur case i know YSP-1 has a clean start up. so, if the warranty still covers it get it replaced. static noises, pop noises are often caused by bad capacitors.

Ysp-1100 clicks when power is pressed but does not turn on.

Sounds like a a pcb dry joint or a poor connection on a multiway plug / socket.

try removing and refitting all the pcb plugs - better still spray carefully with WD40

Goog luck, Gaz

Connecting an iPod to Yamaha YSP-1000

The best way to get quality sound would be to go through the USB connection of the phone.

It will be hard and a bit costly to get a cable to link the Ipod and projector.

Easiet and economical way is to go to apple and purchase a cable for the jaudio jack at the top of the Ipod that will also have an audio jack connector for the projector

Yamaha YSP 1100 clicks when press power button but does not turn.

Hi

I have the YSP1000 and I had a similar issue but it was less frequent. I located the clicking sound which turned out to be a relay on the main circuit board. Before replacing it I removed the relay cover and cleaned the contacts. It has not miss behaved since and that was some 8 months ago. Give it a wizz
