You need a windows Vista disc. Insert the disc and follow the prompts. I would format the hard drive instead of upgrading do a new install. The best way would be to go into your bios and make sure the boot device order has the cd-rom booting before the hard drive. Then put the disc in and start the computer, when it says press any key to boot from cd hit any key and let it load and then follow the prompts to install.
Get a copy and install windows 2000 professional with the service pack 4, the most XP-compatible OS. You'll need 256MB of RAM minimum for everyday/internet use or it will run slowly. Then install your normal apps, firefox, MSN Messenger (V7.5, not LIVE), office 2003, etc. Some MS apps (Like office 2007, MSN Live messenger) will ***** about not having XP, just install an older version.
Simple problem you made the partions using FAT 16 file system and 80 GB cannot be partition using win98 10 will limit the disk to 10 GB.
Remove all Partions And Use Windows XP to create partition during Installion.
