Pool pump and salt elektrolyser

I have recently installed a saltwater electrolyser with PH and ORP control. We also have a Pentair Intelliflow pump on the plumbing. The ORP witch is working with a probe in the plumbing (in the pool water) on Millie volts by electric conduction on the salty water, is not working properly. My problem is that the manufacturer of the salt water generator tells me that this is because of magnatic and/ore electronic interference caused by the Intelliflow variable speed pump. I. am stuck in the middle but like to find a selution. He tells me that the Intelliflow pump works with magnets and seams to cause this?? I.am not a specialist but like to know if this problems is well-known by Pentair. If this is what can we do to solve this? Awaiting any good response, kind regards Hans Cornelisse e-mail address is [email protected]

SOURCE: Will Pentair Intelliflo pump save me enough money to justify cost

Here are a couple of thoughts. If you install an intelliflo pump and run it for the same amount of time and at the same rpm as your current pump, you will still have a savings. If you drop the rpms by 1k, you will have an exponential savings. Go to the pentair website and use the program to estimate your actual savings. You can still run the heater at a reduced flow setting but there is a limit, you have to check with the heater manufacturer to see what the minimum is.

If you are running a conventional pump 24/7 you are using a ton of energy. You should be able to run the pump for 8 hours a day and achieve the same results. For instance, running the pump from 4am to noon should give you a good window to maintain the heat and not run it all the time. It also depends on if you have a cover on your pool when it's not in use. If you don't, you will lose significant heat when it's not running, however, running it early morning should give it a chance to heat back up before you want to use it again. You will have to experiment with timer settings, etc..

I really do think the intelliflo pump is a great pump. The rare earth magnet design allows it to be way more efficient than the conventional pump. It is so much more efficient that when it's running, you can hold your hand on the motor and it is just warm. Your pump motor probably runs very hot, heat is a by product of inefficiency. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Good morning. Three years ago we had an inground

More than likly it's a square flange motor. If the noise is just starting when you take the pump apart you can check the impeller for problems but the most likley is a bearing going bad from a seal leak. If you remove the wires and take the motor with the back half of the pump to a pool store they can diagnose it for you and do the nessary repairs at the shop. Usually they will do this for a small bench fee or for just the price of the nessary parts.

SOURCE: I have a Pentair letro legend platinum pool

You DO need a booster pump to power these automatic pool cleaners. It will not work without one.

Recently installed Intex saltwater system, all of a sudden, have green forming around walls of pool. All levels look okay; except chlorine is a little low and PH is very high...I ran the boost cycle last...

Once you get the "Green" stuff on the walls, you must brush it off.. and one boost cycle will not do.... Make sure you have the correct salt level!!! Keep in mind..big pools can take up to 350 lbs of salt... Now...set you pump at 12 hrs and you chlorinator at 10 hrs between those 12 hrs.. Run this cycle and you should see results within 2 to 3 days... Clean you filter and rinse your electrolytic cell after 3 days because you will have dead algae. After the water turns clear, you can then lower your cycle to 10 pump and 8 chlorinate.. Good luck! hope this helps!

I have an above ground pool 18' round 52" deep. I purchased the intex saltwater system. I have had it run everyday for 8hrs a day and the ph is high and reads no chlorine. What to do?

Salt generating systems cuase pH to rise over time so you generator appears to have been working. What is the salt level in the water? Perhaps your pool is low hence no more chlorine generation.

Ph level for saltwater intex system is too high and water is a bit cloudy what do I do?

Get your water tested at your local pool store and they are going to tell you to add Muriatic Acid. Follow their instructions carefully, hopefully they are a good company. Salt water systems tend to drift the pH slightly basic (high) because of the offgasing of Hydrogen ions in the water. Hayward Mineral Springs salt has pH and alkalinity buffers in the salt already, depending on what brand of salt you are using, that might be your problem.

Ph level is high

Heather,
leave it alone for a week
If it is still high then get a bottle of ph down.
Make sure you go slow otherwise you might find yourself needing to boost it again.

Saltwater System won't bring chlorine level down

depending on the type/brand of salt cell/system you have I would recommend turning it to its lowest setting or off. Most salt cells don't measure chlorine level and will keep producing even if its crazy high. Most cells produce chlorine at about 8.0pH, so it will keep raising your pH as it generates. I would leave it off for a couple of days, get control of your pH and keep measuring your free chlorine level until it's acceptable. If you need to lower your chlorine level quickly you can use sodium thiosulfate to do so. You will have to add acid frequently to compensate for the salt system. Keep an eye on the TA as adding alot of acid will eventually lower your TA as well. Hope this helps.

Intex automatic salt water system died can I chlorinate the salt water.

Yes you can. Liquid would mimic your salt water generator in that it will slowly raise your pH over time. Switching to tablets would do the opposite to pH.
