I have a JVC GR DVL 9000 digital video camera and when i start it up everything is fine...for about 10 seconds or until i try to record or playback then it flashes a EO3 error???? Please if you can help? I LOVE this camera and miss using it soooo bad. I would dance at your wedding if you could help or have some suggestions for me. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks. Thomas
In the case no REEL FG is produced for 4 seconds
or more in the capstan rotation mode after
loading was complete, the mechanism mode
is shifted to STOP with the pinch roller set off.
This error is defined as [E03].
However, no REEL EMG is detected in the
SLOW/STILL mode.
1. The idler gear does not engage with the reel disk well.
2. Though the idler gear and reel disk are engaged with
each other, the tape is not wound because of overload
to the mechanism.
3. No FG pulse is output from the reel sensor.
4. No power is supplied to the reel sensor.
5. Tape transport operation takes place with a cassette
having no tape inside.
6. The tape slackens and no pulse is produced until the
slack is taken up and the tape comes into the normal
status.

Hi. My GR DVL9000 has more problems than that even though I have kept it in a 100% waterproof and shock proof camera case. It is so unpredictable that it is hard to know where to start to explain its maniac behavior. Lets try!!! Mini DV cassette in-PLAY-blue screen-only button that works is FFW-now stop works but the Menu pops up! Return is high lite but Menu dial has no effect. Menu off works after 3 or 4 pushes. batt symbol shows 75% batt although there is no batt in it! Play-FFW-play=EO3. Switch to OFF-to A=nothing (screen open) and many more problems. It is totally erratic. Mind you, the number of times that I have been able to take it out, wait until it is at ambient temperature and have a little filming pleasure without a problem are few. When it goes, it goes well and I love it. When it plays up I am disappointed to have spent over $2000.
Does my camera have wonky electronics? Please help me to sort it out. Am looking forward to finding a solution. Thank you
