My desktop frequantaly booting what can i do

When you say frequently rebooting; Is it randomly rebooting without warning? Do you get a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) error message? Or does the PC just reboot without any error's other than windows was not shutdown properly?

MOST random reboot issues are caused by Power issues;

-Failing Power Supply
-Blown Capacitors on the motherboard
-Insufficient power to run the system.

These would be a good place to start to troubleshoot if you do not get a Blue Screen Error Message.

-Failing Hard Drive can cause this issue as well but is usually acompanied by a Blue Screen Error of sorts.

-Failing RAM again usually accompanied by a Blue Screen Error.

You can test for failing hardware, by using Hiren's Boot Disk for diagnostic tests on your Hard Drive or Ram.

Hiren's Boot CD 15.2 - http://www.hirensbootcd.org/files/Hirens.BootCD.15.2.zip

You will want to run memtest X86 to test the Ram or Hitachi's Drive Fitness Test or SeaTools to test your hard drive.

This BootCD is not for the typical end user whom may not know there way around the features and options this Tech CD provides.

You will want to burn the Hirens Boot.ISO file to a CD (Burn Image Option) using any of your favorite flavors of burn software.

Hope this helps.

You can also download these diagnostic test individually such as memtest x86 and Hitachi's DFT or SeaTools independently from the Boot CD just by doing a google search. This might be the easier way to perform these tests for people who aren't very savvy with boot CD's.

Error code 2000-0122

Error code 2000-0122 means that the RAM failed its tests, the steps to fix it are:

  1. Locate the RAM modules in your laptop, (refer to product documentation for help)
  2. Remove the RAM modules one by one, if you have say 2 stick of RAM installed, put one in and leave the second out and try again if it still fails, remove it and put the other one in and do the same.
  3. Failing that place both the RAM modules in together and try a third time
  4. If this is still failing, you require new RAM

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it could be faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you.

9.1.0 TREADMILL PRECOR PACE ERROR 3

Dear Sir:
Hello I hope everything is fine.
I will give some Tips:
Description Errors 00 through Error 04 check upper PCA memory locations, RAM memory locations and EEPROM checksum during the power up test sequence. If a fault is found during the power up test sequence, the appropriate error code will be displayed. Possible Causes 1. These errors messages almost always indicate an upper PCA problem when they are consistently displayed. Failures causing these error messages to be displayed are rare. Possible Remedies 1. If the error message is consistently displayed when the unit is powered up, the upper PCA should be replaced. It is possible to see one of these messages displayed intermittently due to external causes. If the units A.C. input significantly dips during the power up test sequence the test could fail resulting in one of these messages being displayed. Treadmills operating on non-dedicated A.C. circuits may see these messages displayed on an intermittent basis.
In other words, you need recalibration in your equipment, I recomend after you make a test for a RAM MEMORY.so contact your service call. I recomend Strong, INSTALL regulator Voltage is cheap about us$15,00 Radio Shak or another Electronic Place.
Thank you in advance , sincerely. Blessing. If you need additional Help, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Twice beep sound is coming. Booting is not happening for my p4p800 mx/s board

Hello !
If you check out ASUS support, you will find this troubleshooter for the motherboard not booting :
1. Please clear CMOS.
2. Please take out your memory cards and video card, try to clean their golden connectors with a rubber, then reseat them back.
3. Please take the CPU cooler out, add some thermal paste to the CPU surface, then reseat the cooler back and keep the cooler tightly installed.
4. Please keep the necessary components(CPU, one memory) onboard for a test.
Finally, we would recommend you to replace a BIOS battery to have a test.
Also, by looking over beep codes I have found for AMI BIOS these problems for the 2 short beeps :
1. Memory parity error (Description : A memory parity error has occured in the first 64 KB of RAM. The RAM IC is probably bad).
2. POST fail (Description : One of the hardware tests have failed).
If you have done those and it still doesn't boot, let me know I'll try to find other solutions.
All the best !

I ran diagnostics on my Dell Inspiron 1525. Results: Data Bus stress test failed. Memory compare error, DIMM-B. Suggestion: try to reseat the memory. How should I do? Please help! Thanks T.Doan

1. reseat the ram
2. at the buttom part of the laptop you will see a window covered which will allow you to remove and have the ram be reseated.
3. take out 1 ram firs then run test then run again the test using the other slot. please test each ram on each slot. check if the faulty if the ram or either of the rams of one of the slots. if both ram passed on one of the slots means that ram is ok and slot is not, so then replace the motherboard. if one ram errors on a slot which the ram passed then that ram might be faulty and needs replacement.

Do you get video? If so then it could be a stuck key on the keyboard.

BOOT FAIL: PCF8584: I2C ERROR

According to the message you received on the screen there's might be something wrong with your RAM module(s). Take a look inside and see if everything's alright with RAM. Replace it to another slot if there are empty.
Download and use a program like MemTest to see if RAM is properly working.
If you have another computer which is compatible with your RAM, try it inserting then in to PC and see if everyhting's alright.
If nothing helps, then purchase a new RAM module
