My Raymarine E80 depth display kept freezing up (display then says "DSM connection lost"). Of course, this seems to happen more often when entering a tight shallow anchorage in Alaska's inside passage. Raymarine tech support recommended that I update the display software and then update the DSM300 sounder software. I did this to no avail. Then Raymarine told me to install a dashboard mounted toggle switch inline with the positive power input of the DSM300 module so I could do hard re-sets (turning off the system power or powering down the displays does not reset the sounder module). This I did. Now when entering a tight anchorage, the display still freezes, but at least I can do a hard re-set with the new toggle switch and have the unit back up in about 40 seconds (a life time in a tight channel with the current running, etc.). Now, Raymarine says that if I send in the DSM module to them, they will replace it with their new circuit boards that solve this chronic problem that they have known about for a long time (hello, this is a significant safety issue - why no recall?).
Don't mess with this - send your DSM300 in to Raymarine!

Fuel pump wire color

The gray wire goes from the pump relay to the pump. The black white wire is the ground for the pump. The purple is for the gauge on the dash and the black is ground for the sending unit. I don't list a white wire being used.
If the colors on the truck don't match the tank, you'll have to test them to verify each circuit.

Harley Davidson gas tank reads half a tank but its empty

Disconnect the harness connector from the speedometer.

Check for voltage on terminal "B" of fuel pump/level sender connector.

If voltage is present, locate and repair the short to voltage.

If voltage is not present, connect the breakout box (part # HD-42682) to the speedometer and it's harness connector.
Check for continuity between terminal 9 of the breakout box and terminal "A" of the fuel pump/level sender connector.

If continuity is not present, repair the break in the yellow/white wire.

If continuity is present, check for continuity to chassis ground on the terminal "C" of the fuel pump/level sender connector.

If continuity is not present, repair the break in the black/green wire.

If continuity is present, repair/replace the fuel pump/level sender.

Need color code on new connector

Just did my fuel pump on the 2001 isuzu rodeo. Well here is what you need to do about the different wire colors. First disconnect your negative battery. Drop the fuel tank and replace pump. Remember to have a splice kit in hand. Ok now here is how you connect the different colored wires. Black goes with black. Gray goes with black and orange wire. Purple goes wit blue and yellow. And the last wires goes together. I hope this helps.

I HAVE A 1996 WIDE GLIDE THAT HAS A FUEL GAGE PROBLEM

Ok, you have one orange wire that come up through a tube in the tank. The orange wire that comes up through the tank, the hot wire, goes to the terminal marked "I", for ignition. The orange wire from the sending unit mounted inside the tank goes to the terminal marked "S", for sensor. Both black wires go to the terminal marked "G", for ground.

Fuel tank wire harness

My schematic lies to me a lot but here it is: dark blue:goes to gauge, dark green with red stripe is pump power and black is ground.
Hot wire should have 12v, dark blue should have pulsing voltage and black should be absolute ground.

Fuel pump?

the fuel pump for your 2000 fuel injected road king is located in the fuel tank. you will have to remove the speedometer housing, by first removing the seat, then remove the one small screw near the seat that holds the speedometer housing in place, also remove the small screw at the front of the speedometer housing and lift the housing off the tank and disconnect the wiring that goes to the back of the speedometer. there is a large oval shaped gold in appearance plate on top of the fuel tank. this plate is what the fuel pump is mounted to.
