One day, I started up my computer like normal, watching some videos then suddenly I get this warning that says I need my power charger plugged in, but my charger is already plugged in, upon further inspection it seems that my battery is not charging. I thought this is a software problem so I restarted my computer but the problem persist and I noticed my battery is really hot. I took out the battery thinking it will run on just the power supply alone but my laptop could only start up for a few seconds then turn itself off I tried a few times of this, after waiting for various time length it seems the longer I wait the more laptop can stay on for... but ultimately it just turn itself off. I also waited for a few hours for the battery to cool down, and plugged it in again in my laptop, the laptop turned on, working, charging, but after 20min it warned me of the low power again, so I switched it off. I also noticed the battery is quite hot. Is this a battery problem or something wrong with the computer itself?

You need to check both battery and charger adopter. It seems your battery may have short inside of it. try other charger and battery for test if you can.

SOURCE: Laptop HDD boot problem

I would be inclined to think this was the beginnings of a hard drive failure. Typically these failures are due to mechanical wear on the disks where data is physically recorded. You can continue to use it, however, be aware that when it finally does fail you will likely corrupt some if not all data stored on the drive. At your first opportunity you should back up all data, pictures music, Internet favorites to CD or USB drive. You should also ensure you have your restore CDs for your operating system and any other programs you?ve since installed as well.

Can I charge an RCA MP3 player TH2014T directly into wall outlet in europe or do I need a voltage converter from 240 v to 110v?

First, I'm not a RCA representative.
* Check your warranty. Call for support; https://rcaav.com/audio-video/
*** Following is for information only. ***
* Specs (and questions); https://www.amazon.com/RCA-TH2014-4GB-MP3-Player/dp/B015S9NTLO
* Customer review (shows charging); https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggQwsI1B__8
* according to the specs. A customer says it comes with a large battery(?) but the specs say it uses a USB plug in to charge.
* USB plugs (that are charge plugs) just plug into any standard USB (5VDC) charger.
* The USB charger will plug into the wall outlet power that is available in the area. Albeit 110 or 240VAC.
* Taking a charger from USA will not fit into a European outlet as they are very different. (though plug adapters are avail. I don't recommend them unless they were supplied with the USB Charger AND specifically states the dual voltages on the charger ID plate. )
* European chargers looks like; https://www.amazon.com/European-Adapter-Niluoya-Universal-Charger/dp/B07CBSFPV5/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1531557442&sr=8-3&keywords=usb+charger+european+plug&dpID=41%252BXpN9gxAL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
* But you will be able to charge at any USB standard charging port without using your original charger. (Though you may need to heed the "USB3" ports that may overcharge your device. You will need to contact support to get specifics on what power level (USB 1-2-3 types) you can safely use.
* Diff Europe adapters( and warnings) ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAQ4FaaH8Lk
* Note; There are different plugs in England.
* When in doubt, use USB with 300 ma rating. (which is a very safe slow charge at a low power rate. It won't heat up anything at this power level.)
* WalMart; https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1&biw=1366&bih=654&tbm=shop&ei=v7ZJW6f9EICx0PEPu86s2A8&q=usb+charger+european+plug+walmart&oq=usb+charger+european+plug+walmart&gs_l=psy-ab.12...7685.10539.0.12156.8.8.0.0.0.0.153.965.0j8.8.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.0.0....0.tdeufG-_8LU#spd=5599713413149077881

My daughter's Dell Latitude E5500 won't charge. If I plug her charger into my exactly the same model - works fine. The moment the power lead touches her input port, the light goes off and then the cha

1. Does YOUR charger work on her computer? If yes, you need to replace her charger.

2. If YOUR charger doesn't work on her computer, then the problem is most likely a broken power jack (or a "cold solder joint" on the power jack). The power jack is mounted directly on the motherboard, therefore the entire computer needs to be disassembled to repair it. Here's a link to a YouTube video showing this repair:

The unit does not switch on nor does it show battery charging in progress when attatched to the charger unit

The device may just be locked up and needs to be reset so that it can start up normally. To do a reset on the device, make sure the unit is plugged in to the charging cable/cradle and connected to power. Next press and hold the Mode + Reset buttons at the same time for approximately 10 seconds. After releasing the Mode + Reset buttons, attempt to power the device on normally.

Notebook smells like burning plastic.

cud be your onboard voltage regulator for the battery charging. if you remove the battery and use the external power source does it smell also?
if the battery charges normal out of the unit, and the laptop works well with the AC power unit without the battery, then it's your voltage regulator for the batt charging
