Installation Problem I have just purchase a new GE Digital Camera. When i insert the CD to install the software nothing happen. can you help? i have window VIStA. thank you.

goto Start/programs/Accessories then to Windows explorer or my computer then goto ur CD drive then click on setup.exe

My daughter assisted me with turning the tower over so it layed flat on the floor. We were then able to insert the disk & upload the Photags Express software.

probably the optical lense of u'r cd rom drive needs to be cleaned try cleaning it by aquiring/buying a cd/dvd rom drive cleaning kit from a local computer store. hope this help ;-)

It's very simple. Please don't install other softwre. Because you had lost your installation cd and if you are not able to find the same software on the internet. then you have to do nothing, just visit the shop from where you had purchase the Web cam. if you had purchase it from online shopping then just mail a message to the appropriate website address. they will take some charge but can provide the installation cd easily.

Apparently there is a letter after your camera model number. I don't know if thats going to help find the driver for the camera since drivers that are available are very few for digital cameras on their website. There are a few options. You could purchase a new disk from the service center if there available or you could get a memory card reader for your camera. If you need some photo software, Adobe and Kodak has some available for free to download from their website.

Remove previous all installation/ file if any. Insert the Driver CD in the CD ROM again a wizard interface would be active, from that wizard complete the installation by clicking Next - Next. Do not plug the camera before fresh installation complete. If wizard ask to plug your camera, then plug it.

Firstly ensure you are connecting it into the same USB port as last time, as it will look for drivers if in a different port. Also worth checking to see if another USB device is detected in the same USB port(eg usb pen,dongle, game controller etc),if so the port is ok. If still nothing remove camera and lead. If you still have the software and driver cd that you got with the camera, dig it out. If you have the installation cd, look in Start>Control Panel>Add & Remove Programmes and look for the Sony driver or software in the list. Click on the line and then on right hand side click remove. Insert the cd and re-install drivers or let it autorun, and only connect your camera when instructed to do so; or, after the installation has finished. Hope this works, as the connection between camera and pc is either a lead fault or camera input fault if none of above works.
