Hi, this phone is analog so it can only be connected to a standard phone line, if your router or modem has a FXS connector (phone jack) with an active land line service, you could connect it there.

How do i set up my router msi

Is that a standalone router or a modem/router combination ? If it is a standalone router, in order to set up a home network to access the Internet, you need a modem (cable modem or DSL modem) which must be given to you by your Internet provider when you subscribe for Internet service. Your Internet provider has to provide instructions on how to set up your modem. A modem acts as a router too and has a WLAN port and a number of LAN ports (between 1 and 4). The WLAN port is where you hook up your modem to the Internet using an Ethernet cable. One end of the Ethernet cable goes into WLAN port of the modem/router and the other end goes either into a cable outlet (if your Internet provider is a cable company such as Comcast) or a phone jack if your Internet provider is a phone company such as AT&T or Verizon). To connect your desktop computer to the Internet, you plug it in any of the LAN ports on the modem/router. Contact your Internet provider for set up instructions for your specific brand and type of modem.

Hope this helps.

Just connected router to clear network modem and VoIP (wireless phone service), now when the phone ring, it disconnects me from the internet and the connection is lost until the phone call is complete.

Is your modem a DSL or cable modem?
If it is a DSL modem do you have a DSL filter on each phone line to the phones in your house?
The DSL modem does not need a DSL filter on the phone line.

I loose internet everytime the phone rings

Absolutely. Wireless LAN is on 2.4GHZ. You will want to get a phone at a different frequency.

I have no computer or cable and need to set up internet on my PS3

??? A router will NOT replace your modem; the router won't work without the modem. If you're going to give advice, please make sure it is somewhat correct.

Okay. So first you need the telephone cord to go from the phone jack into the DSL port on your modem. Then you need the Ethernet cable that came with your modem (looks like a phone cord but much bigger) to go from the ethernet port in the back of the modem into the wan or internet port on the router. Verify that the DSL and internet lights are on on the modem.

For the rest of the setup, watch this . It will walk you step by step in connecting your PS3 to the wireless internet. Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

Has my router gone bad?

If no power lights come on... it looks bad, but try another power adapter on the router before tossing it... could be that.

When the cordless phone is in use the internet on the laptop cuts out can anyone help

Assuming you have DSL - Verify that you have a DSL filter in the phone line that leads to the base unit of the cordless phone.
Assuming your laptop connection is wireless - See if there is a frequency conflict with your wireless internet and the cordless phone.
If neither of these suggestions help, please reply with specific details regarding your internet connection (Cable/DSL) and the connection of the laptop

How to change Linksys wireless router?

When you get cable internet, the cable company provides you with a modem (usually). From the cable modem you can hook up the Linksys router with an ethernet cable and it will work just fine. Hook the router up to the desktop or laptop with another ethernet cable if you need to make changes to the router security or whatever. The router address is generally 192.168.1.1. YOu can type that address right into the internet address and you router page shoud show up. If you have been using the Linksys router with the phone line all you need is to connect it to the cable modem to work. An ethernet cable is like a telephone line with a fatter connecter.

Interference from 5.8 GHz cordless phones

I fixed my own problem. I went to the system setup page for the router and changed the channel to another mghz setting. I found one that didn't conflict with the cordless phones. My son is very happy now that he doesn't get kicked out of Halo3 every time we get a phone call.

Connection drop-outs

Is your laptop wireless adapter a compatable brand. It doesn't necessarily mean the router is bad, you may even be getting RADIO interference from a cordlees or a cell phone in it's path. Do you have the capability to plug a cat-5 cable directly into your laptop from the router when you lose wireless? Check the wireless channels and see about changing the channel on your cordless phone too. May not work, just a hunch.

Good Luck
