Where will I find the heat reset button on my tcm580 condenser dryer

Hello Mandy, I am not sure what you mean by a heat reset button; perhaps explaining what the problem is, I may be able to assist you. Are you referring to the dryer motor's overload reset button? As a safety feature, a dryer has a high-limit thermostat and either a thermal fuse or thermal cut-off fuse.

In the event of poor air flow where there is no proper ventilation to the heating element- the internal temperature of the dryer exceeds its high-limit, the dryer will shut-down; once it cools off, you should be able to run it again.

However, if the thermal fuse (located on the blower housing) or the thermal cut-off fuse (located on the heater housing) goes, the dryer heating element will will not heat up or the dryer will stop running altogether.

Please note, a dryer will have either a thermal fuse OR a thermal cut-off fuse, but not both.

By-the-way, there has been a recall on certain models of HotPoint Creda, and Indesit tumble dryers due to a fire hazard risk; I am sending you the link...If your dryer is manufactured by HotPoint model TCM580, then your dryer maybe affected. Read the info in the link- it'll give you instructions on how to determine if your specific dryer is affected and what to do.

MY HOTPOINT AQUARIUS TCM580 CONDENSER DRYER STOPS WORKING AFTER ABOUT FIVE MINUTES USAGE AND IN SO DOING TRIPS OUT THE MAIN HOUSE FUSE, WHAT CAN CAUSE THIS PROBLEM

DRYER OVERHEATING:

Heating Element
A defective heating element can make a dryer too hot. If the element partially shorts out, it can produce heat all the time, regardless of whether the dryer is calling for heat. Remove the heating element to inspect it. The coils should not be touching each other or anything else.

Other Causes and Conditions
Air Flow Problem
Dryers need good ventilation to work properly. If the vent is clogged it can make the dryer too hot. Clean all of the vent tubing thoroughly.

Cycling Thermostat
Although not common, a defective cycling thermostat can make the dryer too hot. The cycling thermostat is supposed to turn on and off the heat to maintain the proper temperature. If the thermostat is defective it may keep the heat on too long. The thermostat is not adjustable or repairable, it must be replaced.

Felt Seal
Most dryers have a felt seal at the front and rear of the drum to keep the heat inside the drum. If the felt seal is worn away or missing, the dryer may keep heating and make the dryer too hot. This is not common.

Blower Wheel
A defective blower wheel will not spin properly and will not vent the hot air, making the dryer too hot. Check to see if there is adequate airflow out of the dryer.

My Hotpoint Aquarius TCM580 tumble dryer has the "Empty Water" alarm in constantly despite the water container being empty. When the "Empty Water" indicator lights, the heat is turned...

I had this issue and the answer above about tipping your dryer / cleaning the condenser worked a treat for me. So thank you to whoever posted it. And don't forget to clean your filter, bottom front, regularly. I keep forgetting this and am sure it probably contributed to the problem.

Burning smell coming from the dryer!

You have a serious clog somewhere in your dryer exhaust ventilation. I would recommend you STOP using the dryer immediately and clean both the interior and all the vent ducting from where it exits the dryer to where it exits the home. the burning is coming from lint build up in and around the heating element and its beginning to smolder. This is a potential fire hazard and may end up causing the heating circuits to fail. The condensation comes from the the inability of the hot air (which is mixed with humidity from your clothing) condensating inside the vent duct. The lint starts to collect and get wet to the point of saturation. Then it begins to cause water to form and leak out of the ducting and on to your floor. You do not want this condensation inside the dryer where the heating circuits are. The following link will provide with some guidance for future reference:

Pay particular attention the paragraph where it discusses proper dryer ventilation. I hope this helps you. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
