Do i have to use wi-fi or can i hook directly to internet?

Check the Menu and look for Internet Settings or Wi FI settings. You should have a manual that came with the TV so read the section on how to connect with the Wi Fi or Internet. Once you have Internet connection, you should be able to set up Netflix from there.

What are you using Wi-Fi for? You may have Wi-Fi but your Wi-Fi it may not be hooked up to the Internet. Try restarting your Wi-Fi / router.

Does the non wifi modem give out DHCP addresses?
Can the wifi modem be set up to receive it's IP address from DHCP?
If the answer to both these questions is Yes then that's what to do as a first step. Make sure the wifi modem DHCP service is disabled as it must NOT give out DHCP addresses.
Connect the ethernet port of the non wifi modem to one of the LAN ports of the wifi modem and NOT the DSL/WAN port. The wifi modem is not participating in any DSL connectivity at all so it's DSL light will remain off. The non wifi modem is doing the DSL duty so it's DSL light should be correctly illuminated.

You can get WI-FI anywhere WI-FI is available with a smart phone.
But if you only have a modem at home and an ethernet cable from the modem to your computer to get internet, then you may not have WI-FI at home.
You'll need to get a wireless router to have WI-FI at home.
Once you do that, you can continue to have your desktop hooked up by the ethernet cable, but you can also install a WI-FI adapter card in your desktop. It will have an antenna on the back of your computer and then you can set it up anywhere in your house and have internet without an ethernet cable.

The issue is with the chip that works with the wi fi. It is erratic in operation. Too expensive to fix. Can you just hook it up via ethernet cable for internet connection?

u can also check power setting, it might be on "power save mode"

These days each WI FI connection has a password which you have to feed to gwt connected to that particular WI FI connection. So please get the password if you want to get hooked to a particular WI FI. You cannot get connected to any Wi Fi.

the wii has a built in wi-fi reciever so you HAVE to have wi-fi if you dont buy a wireless router hook it up to your computer you need to have high speed internet for this then once your wi-fi is set up go to wii options internet connection then click search for connection if you have it set up right it will show your connection name then you click on it and it will retrieve the signal from your connection and you can go online from your wii.

The ports for connecting the PS3 onto the internet might be blocked. Double check with the staff and see if they can help.
