I suspect that my heating element may be out but I can't figure out where it is in the back of the dryer. I cleaned the lint out of the vent hose to make sure its not clogged and I flipped the circuit breakers in my panel to make sure the wasn't the problem. I opened up the back of the dryer, but all I see are a few wires. I don't have any sort of ohm meter or anything like that to test for current.
Its very hard testing without a test meter.. volts and ohms. The Casing & heater is on the right side facing the back of the dryer. Metal silver in color, the heater is inside of the caseing. You can take the heater out and look for broken coils on the heater to see if it needs replacing. You have a to lift the top up to get at the top screw of the heater casing, take the 2 screws out of the flap where the lint filter goes. Use a putty knife to push the clips in on the front of the dryer and look to the back on the left side to remove the top screw of the casing. check the heater a post results.. theres many more things to check if the heater is good.
Your dryer has a temperature safety switch on it. If it heats up beyond its limit, it will turn off the element. Prior to tearing the unit apart, check that the dryer lint collector is clean. Often I find that if my customer uses dryer sheets, they tend to leave a film on the lint collector. You may not be able to see the film but if you hold the lint trap under the faucet and pour water on it, it may not allow the water to pass thru. Wash the trap with liquid soap and warm water. Dry it off and try the dryer again.

do not just jump out. but for testing purpose this can be done just to see if heater is good it will get hot buy the part this is a safety stat means what it means stops your house from burning down
this part will go bad if proper maintenance is not done all dryers should be clean once or twice a year for proper working order
it will also dry cloths faster and save on electric

I actually had the same problem, only mine wasn't the element it was a corroded wire and connection to the heating element. I replaced damaged wire and the connector and everything went back to work! Try checking the wires first, it could save you alot of time and money! This fix was less than $2 and took less than 10 mins start to finish!

To test the heater element u can simply undo the wires now with a wire with a plug on 1 end and the wiring open on the other end connect the live wire to the live on the heater element neutral to neutral and earth to earth now once youve connected each wire plug the wire in and turn the power on if the element is working fine it will start to glow straight away but 1 tip dont do this straight on the floor because if its on lino it will burn carpet will do the same place the element on a piece of wood or something like this if the element doesnt glow when youve switched the plug on then its a faulty element if it does then its your thermostat should be the first stat on the left 1s for low heat and other for high heat this 1 doesnt usually go m8 this is easiest way to check without a test meter let me know how it goes m8

if no ohmmeter, test the heater with a flashliight bulb and battery, dim glow on the lamp ok, nothing -replace
if heater tests out good there are thermal cutouts ( also thermal fuse, thermal protector etc ) on the exhaust duct, ususally on the fan housing, they are one-shot, not resettable, and need to be replaced if blown. if a thermal protector has blown, clean the fan housing and exhaust ducts before reassembly.
Thermal protective devices burn out much more often than heater elements, they are built to fail first

Most driers have a overload cut-out switch to protect the element from overheating
these are usually on the right hand side of the ( Bump / hump panel at the back ) should be a plastic thpe button that re-sets the overload

First and foremost check your breakers. There will be 2, 30 amp breakers. Even if they don't look tripped reset them anyway. Then try the dryer if that's not the problem then you either have a thermostat problem or heating element and will need to check with an ohm meter.

Where is the heating coil? I have the same problem. I have a kenmore that won't heat up or turn off. The timer is moving but stops when it reaches 10 minutes and cooling down. I took the back of the dryer and all I see are wires.

Frigidaire Model LEQ2152ESO (mine doesn't have a 'G' at the beginning). Is tumbling but not heating. Have checked outlet and breakers, all is fine. Don't have manual, but opened back panel and don't see fuses. Can't identify without manual.
