Price Pfister Shower--No water to shower

I have a price-pfister 808 series tub and shower set. It has a VX8 tub and shower body. It is installed as the manual requires, but no water comes out of the shower when the pull spout knob is activated. I have replaced the cartridge and the tub spout, but there is still no water coming out of the shower head. The valve is supposed to prevent you from getting burned when someone turns on the cold water elsewhere in the house. The valve works normally for controlling the temperature and flow of the tub water. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your comments and questions, Aduz.

The water does not stop flowing from the spout when the knob is pulled. It continues to come out of the spout and sprays into the tub.

The system was completely flushed before the shower head was installed.

The shower head is not adjustable.

I experience the same problem with the shower head removed.

I have replaced the spout and the cartridge and the problem remains.

The Price Pfister help line would like me to send them the spout for testing, but since I have already replaced the spout with another unit, I do not believe this is the source of the problem.

My theory now is that the "no scald" valve requires high water pressure to operate. The help line said that they thought it required 60 lbs. of pressure.

    Thanks for your help!

Does the tub spout water flow stop when the shower knob is pulled?

Was the systems pipping flushed before the shower head was installed?

It may be clogged, remove the shower head and then attempt to operate. If it is clogged you will see debris trapped in the screen at its connection point. The shower head can be disassembled - cleaned - reassembled

Is the shower head an adjustable type, that may be in the off position?

Good luck

Set water temp

remove the handle, find the plastic disk with teeth, pull out disk and turn to left for hot, right for cold, set disk back in place, then replace the handle, repeat as necessary.

No and you can thank you government rep next time you see or talk to him for this. The valve is set to give no more than 110 to 115 degree water and cannot be changed. If you want hotter water you will need to install a non-scald faucet. Now if you are not getting to the 110 degree mark then you will need to disassemble the valve body and look for debris in the hot water inlet side.

Now when it is apart turn the water on low and flush the piping out before putting it back together.

Hot watwer leaks from the hot side of the facet

Replace the stem assembly (ceramic cartridge) with Price Pfister service part #910-030. Be sure to turn water on briefly to flush out any debris in the valve body before installing new part. NOTE: this valve does not like old galvanized plumbing.

I have a Price Pfister Model no. 808 DK00 single handle bath tub/shower faucet. I am only getting hot water coming out when the handle is turned on. This problem just started. It was working fine for about...

It's likely that you have some sediment that has accumulated in the cold water valve and has clogged it. The model number you have cited above is only for the trim (rather than for the valves behind it). Assuming that you have a Price Pfister valve, they don't have built in filters, so you're probably going to have to either clean or replace the valve.
