Blender blade not turning, rotating piece on base not connected

The blender blade is not turning in the blender glass. the small rotating piece on the base that turns the blade seems to be not connected tightly to the spinning part of the motor. therefore, when the small rotating piece connects with the base, there is not enough friction to turn the blade.

When I try to make milkshakes the blender blends for a couple of seconds and then stops turning. I replaced the rotating teeth and it still does not work right. I can hear the motor whirling but it doesn't connect. I wait a few seconds and try again. It is like the icecream is to thick for the blades to turn.

This is getting more and more common there is a part between the motor and the drive gear that snaps for no reason . its job is to snap if the blades jam as a "fuse" to save your house from a overheating ,jammed motor . the problem is there are no parts to buy to fix this . if its new take it back to where you bought it . otherwise shipping it 2 ways for repair to the factory is sometimes as much or more as a new blender ........ i would recomend you do one of two things : go to a goodwill or other type shop and get a nice vintage blender , it will last forever ! or move up to a vita mix . its costly but it will realy last you ... this new made in china junk is just bad news even when it has the kitchen aid name on it . its still the same junk ..... good luck........ Please if this answer helped , please rate this 3 or 4 stars . and keep me in the paid answer department . A 1 or 2 may knock me down into the unpaid ranks. Thanks Cactus Bob .

Anything that is made can be easily reproduced. Silicone molding compounds are readily available at alumlite.com as well as many grades of polyurethanes.

Once the mold is made it costs only a few cents of polymer to make a part, and often its superior to the original part.

The only tools you need are dixiecups and a scale.

If you plan to sell the parts, do not make a mold of the original part as this may be copyright infringement.
Obsolete parts are usually Free range if the patents have expired, but you may not be able to find out.
But it is legal to make a prototype that "is similar" to their part and may even be a improved model.
When selling be sure to list the part as NON-OEM and "FOR" that make or model of machine.

Why won't my ninja blender turn on? The red light is blinking, but power is connected and lid is secure.

try rotating the container part 1/4 of a turn to line up slots and press down . then if it does not blend turn another 1/4 turn to line up slots and press down pushing container into base motor unit .
container and screw on blade lid is put in upside down and the plastic posts have to match the base unit to turn on the blender when you press down on container into base unit.

I own and use a ninja blender !.

I can manually turn the blades inside the glass pitcher and I can turn the piece on the top of the motor base into which the pitcher blade attachment fits.

One of the parts is not being driven properly. Either the clutch on the top of the motor is not really attached to the motor shaft OR the clutch on the bottom of the blade is not engaging with the motor clutch OR the blade clutch is not properly attached to the blade shaft. On some models if you put the rubber sealing ring in the wrong place between the beaker and the blade housing it is enough to lift the clutches apart. The rubber wing goes between the beaker and the blade housing, not between the blade housing and the blade retaining ring.

Blender glass jar is leaking at base

It will either be the rubber gasket (it goes between the glass jar and the blade assy) or it could be a worn bearing/bush around the chopping blade shaft. Replace either the gasket or the blade assy.

Blender seems to run right until you put glass jar on.runs very slow.

Hi,
Disassemble the base from the jar, and check the placement of the gasket. Reassembly, with the jar upside down is gasket, blades, then base. While disassembled, rotate the blades by hand just to make sure that they aren't in a bind. Replace if defective.

The blades stopped turning in the middle of blending a batch of hummus Its is a Kitchen Aid blender about 10 years old

Does the motor still work if you take the pitcher off of the base? If so, the rod that's in the blade assembly is probably corroded. The blades are connected to a metal rod that passes through a brass tube through to the piece that makes contact with the motor when you put the pitcher on the base. The grease wears down eventually and if you don't pulse and run the motor for a long time at once, the heat can corrode the bar and cause the blade to stop spinning. You can either disassemble the blade unit, or buy a new blade unit online. google blender parts and you can get one for $10
