How do I remove the black rubber rotating bit on

My clever hubby made a spanner (piece of metal with a slot cut into it) that fits round the spine under the plastic cog and then using pliers he could just unscrew the offending piece. Use masking tape to protect the top of the blender. Thanks for previous suggestions though as it saved going to a repairer and paying unnecessary costs. Cheers.

Kitchenaid help

When the lights are flashing, this does indicate that an electronic part has failed. This blender is no longer manufactured, so finding replacement parts for it may not come easily. Repair centers are available.

You may find a Kitchenaid certified service location using the following link:

If this is not helpful, I would recommend calling Kitchenaid Customer Service to see what they can recommend for you.

Their toll-free number is 1-800-541-6390.

My blender seems to spin without the glass blender

your blade assembly is corroded. take it off, and using a rag, grab the blades. using another rag, grab the other end (probably rubber) and turn CLOCKWISE - it's threaded reverse, so you have to turn to the right to loosen, not the left like usual. I had to clean out the rod that connects to the blades - it was all nasty and corroded. I cleaned it with my Dremel and regreased with a tube of grease I keep in the garage, cleaned all other parts with some Dawn, dried well, reassembled, and works almost like new. I'm guessing I ran it too long without pulsing the motor and the heat corroded the rod that's connected to the blades. OR you can buy a replacement blade unit for about $10 online on a blender parts site

Blades need to be greased, but I don't know what

To take the blades off, grab the blades with a rag so you don't cut yourself, then grab the other end with a rag and turn CLOCKWISE - it's reverse threaded, so lefty loosey doesn't work here, it's lefty tighty, so turn to the right. Figured it out after an hour of mental anguish

How do i remove the rubber clutch of my kitchenaid blender

Grab the blade with a rag so you don't cut yourself, then grab the clutch with another rag and turn CLOCKWISE. It's threaded reverse - took me hours to figure this out. I found grabbing with rags or maybe towels worked the best. That should work

Blender has lost top two speeds

With my blender, some of the buttons stopped working, and I found a simple way that fixed it like new, with no special skills or replacement of parts. To determine if this fix will work for you, unplug the blender and press on each button. As you do this feel and listen for a definite 'click'. If you here it for the buttons that are working, and not for those that aren't, you probably have the same problem.

I discovered that there is a tiny mechanical push button switch under each button. The switches are held snug to the bottom of each button by a thin metal bracket. If you have heavy fingers, the force of pressing the buttons over time, causes the bracket to deform, moving the switches further and further away from the buttons until, eventually, no matter how hard you press, they are no longer close enough to depress the switches underneath.

The solution is to simply open the blender (with the power cord removed) and gently push the button assembly back towards the buttons. To get inside you need to pull out each of the four rubber feet, and unscrew the phillips head screws that are hidden under them. Next, seperate the top and bottom sections by gently pulling the power cord through the strain-relief (don't worry, it goes back together very easily). Before putting it back together, check the buttons (always with the power cored unplugged !!!) for the 'click'. If this doesn't work, you may have to take out the two screws that fasten the bracket to the blender, and bend the bracket hold-down tabs with a plier, in the opposite direction of the switches (that way when you put the screws back in, they'll move towards the buttons. That's it.

Hope this helps someone like me save about $150.00 for a new one and keep another 10lbs. of junk out of the landfill.
