The auger motor and coupling in the rear may be frozen and won't turn.
Remove the ice bin.
Place a screwdriver or similar device in the forks of the auger and twist counterclockwise till it moves. The replace the ice bin and try again.
It will be difficult to move.
If that does not work. Turn off the fridge and use a hair dryer to hrat the auger gear and motor till it frees up.

SOURCE: ice maker will not dispense the ice

When you press the lever to dispense the ice, there are multiple switches being activated. Chances are, the one that moves the motor to turn out the ice is bad. Or that motor itself is bad.

Ice Dispenser not dispensing ice

Remove the top freezer door hinge cover and disconnect the plug there . This will remove power to the dispensor . Remove the dispensor grill , and also the 2 screws at the bottom of the dispensor front . Lift the front up and out , and remove the plug on the front . You should now see the white switch bracket . On the left side , is the ice dispensor motor switch , when usually , one of the spears holding the switch breaks off , not allowing the ice dispensor to work . If this is the case , the part number is 2180226 . Only held on by 2 screws . When/if replaceing , be sure to put the plastic spacers in the correct position next to both switches , and be careful not to break one of the spears , holding the switches .

In door ice dispenser does not work but the water dispenser does.

check to make sure there is water or ice in your ice maker tray. If none then problem is usually a water supply issue to the ice maker. Behind the frig are the water supply inlet valves. One is for the water dispenser in the door. THe other is for the ice maker. However when one goes bad they both are replaced as one unit. Also Check position of fingers in ice maker. If not in a vertical position then try to reset the ice maker unit and worse comes to worse, replace it with a new one.

Whirlpool gold ice maker problem

  • The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
  • Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees.
  • In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering.
  • note: The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.

Whirlpool ice dispenser not working

RECHECK THE CONNECTIONS AT THE UPPER DOOR HINGE WHERE THE ELECTRICAL WAS DISCONNECTED. MAKE SURE ALL THE PINS ARE STAYING IN THE PLUG WHEN YOU CONNECT THEM TOGETHER.
ALSO, BE SURE THE ICE BIN IS PROPERLY INSTALLED.

Ice and water dispenser

Has someone pressed the lock button on the front of the fridge just above the dispenser, next to the crushed & not crushed ice button, if so there is also an unlock button next to it.
