I assume you don't have an illustrated parts list try and Google one up using make and model number etc. It is also a good guide on what needt to be removed and in what sequence.
As far as the novice part, the turntable is a basket case now what can you hurt, this is how we all learned, try to fix it if you cant then call someone who can, not a big deal.

I would advise you to return the wrong one for a refund if you've not already.
The proper part number is DE92-90189Z and a few places have it (see here) , even though it's considered no longer available.
Even though their price is higher, I would bet that Sears Parts Direct has it here.

Nothing is wrong with the microwave, the plastic cover was either not microwave suitable or a splash of grease/oil/food was stuck to the plastic and melted it.
