    1. Turn off the power to make the SET STAND-BY mode.
    2. In order to enter the Service Mode, Press "INFO" → "MENU” → "MUTE" → "POWER" button on the Remote
    when in menu screen enter options, reset the bulb hour setting, then there is a lower reset that resets the hole tv press this, inportant make sure there are no inputs connected i.e areial scart or anything.

Hello,

The problem with the television is the lamp. It is faulty that is why the screen turns wavy in minutes.

The solution to that is to replace the light and your television will be in good condition once again.

Take care

Lamp replaced 1.5 years ago, now the picture goes out but comes back on every few minutes, as if it gets to hot and needs to cool down. Fan comes on.

Lamps only last for 5,000 hrs -8,000 Playing hrs
It means every hour you Play TV Lamp burns up the hours, so after 5,000hrs on most Lamp needs replacing, some Lamps dont even last this long DLPs are not like Projection you can play them 24-7 and Tubes will remain good, But Lamps are like a light bulb they all burn out after so many hours.
Best thing is to turn TV off if you are not watching it, in order to Save Hours burt on Lamp.
Mats has Lamps for $99.00 1-800-628-1118
Replace the Lamp.

Picture goes bad (fuzzy&scrolls&lines) on Hitachi projection tv

Sounds like your convergence modules have gone bad. They have 21 close spaced pins to unsolder and resolder. You'll need a soldering iron with a fine point tip and thin gauge solder to do the repairs yourself. Solder bridges between pins are common when soldering these module pins, so have some unsoldering wick handy if you're going to fix it yourself. Volume up then pic gone

Good Day;

The TV's front panel may be bad, manual buttons. TEMPT FIX; remove speaker, cloth covered, cover, disconnect cables. TV will work but only with remote.

Good Luck!

Power light flashing/ no picture

I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.
