It could be the main relay and/or the ecm. Or it could be the distributor timing off.
Could be the ignition switch. Honda issued a recall on 1997 CRV ignitions in 2002.

Check the battery condition, battery state of
charge and starter motor current draw. Replace the battery if marginal
and the starter motor if the current draw is beyond specification.
Check the battery cable condition. Clean the battery terminals and replace corroded or damaged cables.
Check the fuel system for proper operation. A
fuel pump with insufficient fuel pressure or clogged injectors should
be replaced.
Check the engine's tune-up status. Note the
tune-up specifications and check for items such as severely worn spark
plugs; adjust or replace as needed. On vehicles with manually
adjusted valve clearances, check for tight valves and adjust to
specification.
Check for a failed coolant temperature sensor, and replace if out of specification.
heck the operation of the engine management systems for fuel and ignition; repair or replace failed components as necessary.
Check the air filter and air
intake system. Replace the air filter if it is dirty or contaminated.
Check the fresh air intake system for restrictions or blockage.
Check for loose or deteriorated engine grounds and clean, tighten or replace as needed.
Check for needed maintenance.
Inspect tune-up and service related items such as spark plugs and
engine oil condition, and check the operation of the engine fuel and
ignition management system.

It's not a easy job but I'm pretty sure you had one of those problems where the idle surges if this is the case take out the air intake tube that leads to the throttle body, get a can of carburetor fluid and spray around the throttle body. You will need someone to start the car and hold the gas peddle to 2500 rpm while you do this the car will shut of when you do this, restart the car and repeat the process until half of the can is used up. Now check your antifreeze level fill if needed and reset you check engine light. Now you can take the idle air back and get your money.
Ok,
1. ensure ignition off
2 . bridge the 2 pin connector, Put a piece of wire across both terminals
3.switch ignition on
4. SRS lamp should illuminate for 6 seconds
5.disconnect the bridge wire within 4 seconds of the warning lamp extinguishing
6.SRS lamp should illuminate 2 times, Codes erased
7.switch ignition off
8 Wait 10 seconds. switch ignition on and check SRS warning lamp operation.
hope this helps
