Title: Zoom H4 / Mac USB Problem



Question: I just got a Zoom h4 to use with my Imac. The Cubase installed normally, but when I connect the H4 via the provided USB cable and follow the steps in the manual, the Imac gives me a message that says the USB has low power and needs to be connected to a power source --- and it already is.What to do? raleba

If your are using Mac OS 10.4 I cant help you, but if youre using 10.5 USB won't work with the H4 unless you go to the Samson/Zoom website and download the new driver for Mac OS 10.5

Upgrade firm ware from Zoom website

You will need an external SD card reader.

If you are using a Mac running Leopard (Sys 10.5), you need to upgrade the H4  firmware from Zoom website
http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/download/software/h4.php

You will need an external SD card reader.

Cannot connect to PC

Do you have an SD slot in your mac? plug the sd card there and see if it works. Erase manually the files (leave the system files) and try again with the H4. Luck

H4 randomly stops recording on cubase le

I may possibly have solved this. I didn't realise that when I log off from Cubase, the ASIO driver returns to the Multimedia ASIO driver, which seems to be the default setting.

Every time I want to record with the Zoom H4 in future I'll need to reconfigure the ASIO driver to the H4 one.

I thought once I'd set the driver, it would remain there every time Cubase booted up. Apparently not.

Connecting / Mac / Tiger / Midi

I have just downloaded and installed the version 2.20 of the software for the H4 from the Zoom site. It solved my problem and the H4-SD card now shows up in the Finder as expected.

Note that I formatted a spare SD card to do this update in order not to lose any existing sound files.

Make the instalation of cubase LE that come when you buying the Zoom H4.When you instaled this,the driver H4 must appear in the sound/device properties.I hope you can solve
