Hello,

You need to have the operating system's disc so that you can do a clean install. Insert the disc and boot from the cd by restarting and pressing any key when it tells you to do so.

Format the C drive and install the new operating system there. Make sure that before you do this, you have backed up all your important files.

I want to restore my a25-3072 laptop back to factory specs.
ok first things first I believe you mean "XP tablet edition" instead of "Desktop Management Interface"
  • A Tablet edition just means laptop version of and operating system. Laptops need different operating systems, than desktops, to function correctly.
Second even if you are using a Tablet edition of XP you can't use it from another computer.
  • When ever you use a restore disk specifically designed for another computer you will get the error message you described.
  • You will need to find the original restore disk for that laptop, or you will need to find a new Tablet version of Windows XP.
Once you install a new version you should stop getting that error message. But it has to be brand new. Please rate me I want to know if I was of any help.

If the audio driver has not been installed you can download any/all the Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page.
Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers.
