I would like to boot a toshiba satellite m105-s30401 with an external monitor as the laptop screen is busted and i would like to use an external monitor until i get a replacement screen, how do i get

Connecting an External Monitor or Data Projector You can switch to an external monitor or data projector by two methods. 1. Connect the external monitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and the laptop. The video information will automatically switch to the external monitor. 2. If you power up the laptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor by pressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make and model laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCD screen plus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fn key plus one of the function key a few times. Here is a list of key combinations for some of the laptops :- IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7 HP and Compaq = Fn + F4 Toshiba = Fn + F5 Dell = Fn + F8

Computer wolt turn on

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact. Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.

Toshiba satellite m105 s3041 sound only works through headphones

Go to your "Start" menu at the bottom, left of your computer's desktop. Select "Control Panel" from the menus. Select "Sounds and Audio Devices" in the Control Panel. Look at the settings under the "Volume" tab. Make sure the slider is not turned down. If it is all the way to the left, you need to move it more to the right. Make sure the "Mute" button is not checked.
  • Go to the "Audio" tab. There you will see "Audio Playback" with a drop-down box. Make sure it is set to your computer's sound card. For example, if your computer uses Sigma Tel Audio, make sure that is the name in the drop-down box. If it isn't, then change it to read your sound card's name. If you still do not hear sound, your speakers may be damaged.
  • 7 Test your speakers on another computer before you decide if they are broken. The input jack on your computer might be the problem.
  • God bless you

    Hi,

Im very sorry to hear that, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.

    1. Removed the battery.
    2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.
    3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.
    4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

    HI there,
    The "Error" texts saying:

Are completely normal. This simply states that there is no external cables plugged into the specialty inputs on your toshiba laptop.

The "operating system not found" is stating that your existing hard drive is either A) dead or B) been erased.

Try to re-install your operating system, if it finds no hard drive, you'll need a new one!

    How do I replace the

You should remove the memory cover underneath your laptop first. There are several covers but only one is the correct one.
The modules unclip by way of the clips on the side of the modules.
BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE MODULES ensure that the battery has been removed and you have touched the VGA output socket, to discharge yourself from static, or the modules will possibly get damaged.
Only touch the side ends of the modules, (where the fixing slots are), to avoid damage.
Make sure the replacement module/s are of the same make and type otherwise you may get problems.
    I hope this helps.
