DVD is stuck in my JVC VCR/DVD Combo

If you suffer from region code troubles, you can download a region free DVD player software tool on your pc and then you can play discs of any regions you want. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is a free Blu-ray player and a region free player.

The DVD laser pickup is at the end of life, replacement of assembly the only option, cheaper to replace the combo unit.

Each universal remote have certain code for each TV, read the manual for code, match the code with your JVC.

Read ur manual,see if this model,have this funsction.Simple as go into the DVD player/VCR combo setup menu and pick regions free,pick Auto.

The JVC DR-MV1S DVD Recorder / VCR Combo does not suppport DVD+R, only DVD-R, -RW etc.
At least mine only supports these formats, as when I first bought mine, I got some blank DVD's they were DVD+R.
I recorded a movie onto one on my PC, then tried playing it in the JVC unit... no go!
Instruction manual (available for D/load online) proved to me that I could not play +R disks!!

You have the child lock (CL) turned on.
Your instruction manual will have the information about turning it on or off.

It's purely t prevent small fingers doing bad things to expensive electrical equipment. =)

If you cannot locate the info in the manual, post back and I will hnt the relevant info for you.

Do you know why the tape was stuck? How did you get it out? On most vcr's there's a mode switch connected to the mechanics of the vcr. If the mode switch isn't in stop position, the unit will try to get it there and shut off if it can't. Bad belts, bad idler wheel, dirty mode switch, mechanical timing off (maybe due to forcing a stuck tape out?)... all these can cause this.

Goldstar dvd/vcr combo was stuck in progressive scan. I used the posted solution and now it is out of progressive scan but it continuously reads the dvd and I cannot get the dvd to play. "Reading" conitues to appear on the screen. Any suggestions?

I have a govideo dvd vcr combo that will not read disks.
the sled runs fine, the laser works, and it seems to try to spin up, but just WILL NOT read the disks.
