I have a Sylvania DVD/CD Player with Video Cassette Recorder. DV220SL8.
When I first purchased it last November, I tested everything out to make sure it would work. I then put it away as a spare for latter use.
The Vcr side of this Machine, when I record, will not track properly, all it does is jump. When I put in a Purchased Movie? The darn thing will either play perfectly, or on the next movie, it jumps, I cannot adjust the tracking.

try cleaning the heads with a head cleaner or even a high grade blank tape letting it play for 20 mins.

1.you could unplug the unit for 30 seconds and then plug it in again.
2. if there is a pen hole in the front you will need a paper clip to insert carefully and then the door will release.
3. If you can remover the cabinet cover you can go in to the units drive and rotate the gear that ejects the transfer table for the DVD and retrieve your disk.
