Pyramid cdrcs90mp I recently installed the Pyramid cdrcs90mp in my car but I observed that any button can turn on the system including the power button ( Is this normal and if so why a power button) or was it installed wrong? I alos observed that the clock does not stay on after I turn of the system which is strange as all my other stereo had the clock display on with or without the system being on. Is there something I can do to remedy these two problem?

Hi there, the installers forgot to wire your auxiliary wire to the proper connection. this is the reason why the clock doesn't stay on after the ignition switch is turned off. i assume they just wired the aux wire with the power wire, which is wrong. this is causing the random power button scramble. Although, the aux wire is crossed into the power wire, this random power button scramble could be a manufacturing mistake as well. hope that helps and, thx for using fix ya.

Do yourself a favor do not get anything Pyramid they are cheap for a reason and you will not get good bass response from them even in a optimal enclosure. If you want nice bass for little money go with lanzar opti 1535D sub you can pick one up for around $265 and will blow away Pyramid any day.

Hello, I have a pyramid power supply(PS-52KX), that recently started with a overvoltage problem. I run a Galaxy DX94 HP 10 meter transceiver, and just recently, when I key up the radio, the...

I'm not sure what you mean by 'wide open voltage'. If it's over 17v, the supply may have multiple problems. I don't have the 52kx schematic but other Pyramid supplies have over-voltage protection. There is an SCR that is triggered when the voltage gets to ~17v. This should clamp the output and trigger a shutdown. You should check the 16v Zener diode and the SCR. If the SCR or the Zener is defective, that would prevent the over-voltage from clamping the voltage. Also confirm that the SCR has a solid connection to the ground terminal of the supply. If it's open, that could prevent the clamp from shutting down the supply.

If the voltage is going high, measure the DC voltage from pin 4 to pin 5 of the LM723. It should remain the same at all times. Also measure the voltage from pin 5 to the ground terminal of the supply. That should also remain constant at all times.

sorry about the delay I was on holiday, if you haven't solved the problem yet I would suggest that you check that you are getting both power supplies (red and yellow) and if not the first thing to do is check the fuses in the car. Let me know if your'e still having problems.
