To get digital, you need to do the autoprogram or channel scan.. then it will find them and add them to your channel. point your antenna toward your towers and re-scan the channels. if you want digital cable, you need a cablecard (where applicable) or cablebox to decode..

Hi all could someone help me please I have a philips 42pfp5532d and its stuck in digital tv and when I press menu nothing comes on the screen . What do I need to do ??

Search or call Phillips and see how to reset the TV back to the factory settings. Sometimes its as easy as hitting a couple of keys on your remote. Good Luck

Phillips 42PFP53320 42" Plasma TV. No picture,

Hello jporter...

welcome here in fixya..

That problem is one of the common problems of plasma TV (have sounds but no picture)..As a expert of flat panel for more than 5 years I already encounter that kind of problem many times..

Actually that problem is caused of either X,Y or Z sustain board or even both 3 boards are faulty..Because some models when the one of those boards have short circuit or bad there are possibility that other sustain board are affected..But most the problem like yours is "Y-SUSTAIN" board..

I can't find your model online please double check it it either Phillips 42PFP5332D/37 or 42PFP5532D/05

And for specific and easy way to find replacement please try to look at the part # of that board (it is usually printed on the sticker attach to the board itself..

Hope it helps and please don't forget to rate my answer..

Have a nice day!!!

regards,
Chester.

Philips 42pfp5532d 05 plasma tv won't store tv channels. when turn off then back on has to scan for tv channels again.

I had the same problem a little while after the digital change over, channels were all lost struggled to get the set up menu up but when i did i retune the channels as soon as you turn the tele off there lost again. but it works if you leave the tele on standby. 2 people have told me it's the battery in the tele itself.

I changed the cabling between my Phillips tv and set-top box a few times and I lost the signal. The signal is from UPC, it's piped tv. They said to locate the av channel on the tv and this would restore...

The only way to change the source for the 28PW8608/05 is to use the remote. On the original remote, just below and to the left of the power button is the button you need. The image on it is a square with an arrow going into the square from one side. The inputs should go TV, EXT1, EXT2, (EXT3 on some models), Front). Depending on the set top box, you may need to enter the setup menu and set the digital source for the input (Press together Fast Rewind and Stop > Setup > Digital Source) or the decorder (next option in Setup).

If you do not have the original remote, you will need universal remote with an input or source button and to find the code that matches the function. Some codes may only operate the basic functions. (The lowest end universal remotes often lack this feature.) A universal remote that can be programmed via a USB connection with a computer will be the fastest to set up.

I hope this helps.

How to tune to tv channels

There is a switch [tv-vcr] somewere in the front. When pressed to tv, you can change the channels FROM the vcr.You will need an "air wave" ANTENNA signal because the cable box individual channels cannot be seen when you place the switch to tv.Now if you have a cable box connected properly and turn that tv-vcr switch to vcr the individual CABLE BOX CHANNELS will show through the vcr.
p.s. There is a small switch (someware in the back of the vcr & the back of the cable box, dish box, etc., etc.) ch.3 or ch.4 and the VCR have to be on the same INPUT channel as the box.
