I had the same trouble to reset this machine into factory setting and finally, I found out. Let's do this way.
- Leave your remote away as you won't need it
- Turn off the the unit to STANDBY mode
- Press and hold STRAIGHT button on the unit and press Power button while you are holding it. This will turn on the machine.
- Once the machine turns on, press PROGRAM to select the items on LCD display until it shows INIT **** CANCEL
- Press STRAIGHT button until it turns to INIT **** ALL
- Press Power to turn off the machine.
- Leave it for 2 sec. then turn on the machine again.
Now your unit turns to factory default setting.

SOURCE: factory settings

I only found this on the manual
"...
if the power is cut for more
than one week, the parameter value you edited will
return to the factory setting."

I have a Yamaha HTR -3065 and it's started coming up with advanced setup then goes to remote ID..ID2 I've tried to do a factory reset but it's not doing anything.

This remote ID prevents 2 Yamaha av-amp from being
Mixed up when they receive a remote signal from
RXV685 NOT RXV365. You can set ID1 for default.68854b44-9a35-474f-9679-0502581ef85b.jpg

I have a HTR-3065 receiver and no sound in center speaker

Try changing surround modes - the center channel is not used in all modes. If that doesn;t work, check your speaker settingsw and make sure the center channel is not turned off
