Need all incoming calls to ring on preferred phone

We currently have four phone numbers for our business and would like all calls to these numbers to be directed to our main phone in reception. Two lines currently ring at reception, but the other two will be directed straight to phones in staffs offices. have the manual and tried everything but cant work it out. Driving us nuts. If anyone could help it would be really appreciated.

Thanks Carl, Im sorry but we dont know what DIL etc. is. I forgot to mention we have the KX-T7230AL, does your solution apply to this model as well? Also not sure what you mean by programs 407-8 and 603-4?

  • eleanor621 Feb 18, 2009

Yeah that's the one we have got, when you say programs 407-8 and 603-4 do you mean to type that into the phone when in programming mode? Sorry, bit lost.

  • eleanor621 Feb 19, 2009

Hey again Carl, we typed in the programs you said but it didnt make a difference, just changed some other settings for tones etc. Do you know if there are instructions on this in the manual somewhere? If so we would be happy to follow them, cant find them is all.

Depending on how the private lines were programmed, you need to pull the ringing out of DIL 1:1 if it was assigned and put it into DIL 1:N. Look at programs 407-8 and 603-4.

When you say you have the manual(s), then you must have the TD-816/1232 system manuals. If you don't, programming changes are going to be impossible. I don't know what AL is, but try the U.S. version of the programming manual. http://www.public.carl.airpost.net/TD/12...

    Those are them.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking, but I'll try to be patient.

I'm guessing that the first lines, CO1 and CO2 ring all phones. Since an 816 has 4 lines, CO3 and CO4 would be the private lines. In a 1232, it could be 3&4, or maybe 7&8. You can find that out by going to wherever those lines appear, press PROGRAM 99 and the button they ring in on and read the CO assigned to them.

Go to the pdf page 182 and read from the top.

Now, from the programming phone, dial 407 and use that number obtained above to see if the CO is programmed to ring at the extension ie 407 SP PHONE 0x and read the display. If it says CO 0x and Disable, you don't have to do anything. If it says CO 0x and there's a number there, like the extension it's programmed to ring to, press the TRANSFER key and STORE. Do that for the other CO obtained on the second private line so that all 407 and 408 commands say Disable.

Now, press the HOLD button and dial 603 (pdf page 274) and press SP PHONE 2 times. The display should read #01-1 CO01 Immed. Press the FWD button until the CO shows up that you used above. It will have a status of No Ring, Immed, 1 ring 3 ring 6 ring or Disable. Change it with the AUTO ANS button until it says Immed. and press STORE. Now press SP PHONE 2 times and the display should change to 02-1. Repeat the above through all of the Jacks yiou want to ring, changing only the xx-1 jacks (digital phones).

Honest, once you do it a half a dozen times, it will get really easy :-)

My phone when called is giving a busy signal

If you have a number of phones installed in your home, disconnect all of them. Then plug in the one at the main incoming junction box to the house. Preferably use an old wired phone. Then test if the incoming calls connect. If they do, the number of phones has exceeded the REN Value set by your Telco. If the phone is still giving a busy signal, contact your Telco and report it as a fault on the line.

Nokia 6085 drops incoming calls

in profile management under caller settings you should find an option there to set the number of rings before timing out. Set it to whatever your preference is and it should solve your problem. otherwise it may be a provider issue, try calling AT&T and explaining what's going on.

My Lexmark Interpret S405 fax?copy machine picks up incoming call from cell phone as fax. it goes onto fax automatically after 2 rings..

It seems that you're sharing your home phone line with your Lexmark fax machine. You can adjust the "pick-up" ring from the printer operator panel by pressing the Setup button > Fax Setup > Ringing and Answering > Pick Up On > select your preferred number of rings before the fax answers.
Please note:
If you have an answering machine connected to the same line as the fax, set the answering machine to answer incoming calls before the printer does. Increase the number of rings by a factor of 3 over the answering machine. For example, if the answering machine is set to pick up on 4 rings, set the printer to pick up on 7 rings.

If you have a voicemail feature in the same line as the fax, you may subscribe from your phone service provider for a distinctive ring pattern feature. You can program your printer to have a distinctive ring pattern and phone number for incoming faxes.

Should you still need assistance, please leave a comment to my response and I'll get back to you. Should this resolves your problem, your rating will be greatly appreciated.

Hi: I have a Panasonic KX-T7420 phone. When one of the incoming lines is ringing and I pick up the handset, it picks up the intercom and not the incoming line. Is there a way to get the thing to answer...

There are 2 things that would prevent you from being able to answer a ringing phone by picking up the handset. Your phone has to be ringing, and you need to set preferred line ringing on incoming calls.

The second part is easy. Press PROGRAM 99 and dial 22 STORE on your phone. Now when a call rings on your phone you can pick it up. If you can't, then your phone is not ringing.

Ringing is set in system programming.
