How do remove the blades from the Rival 1220 model electric knife

I had the same question and finally figured out the answer. To remove the blades on the Rival Electric Knife 1220, first you must locate the piece I am going to refer to as the COLLAR. The collar is located above the "ON" button - toward the blades - but is not part of the blade. It is in between the main machine and the blades and kind of looks like a collar -it also looks like part of the main unit but when pushed from the top will move. On my 1220 it is the same color as the bottom of the machine. Once you locate this secret piece, the rest is quite simple. First-make sure the unit is unplugged then Just place your thumb on top and push the collar down-towards the sharp edge of the blades-and pull the blades out. To reinsert, line the blades up and snap them back into place.
