The speaker cover just pulls off, there are 4 screws holding the screen on, take them out and the screen should lift off. But be careful, there are wires attached to it, so don't let it drop.

The spot may be from debris inside the chamber of the TV box. A bug, dust speck, or other material can attach to the inside screen or on a color tube inside of the unit. Do not touch the inside of the Front Screen as it has a special coating and you could damage the screen permanently. Avoid washing with water or sprays that can enter the frame of the screen. Use a cloth with cleaner applied to it and wipe clean, then dry with a soft rag or paper towel.
Correct, convergence output chips are getting heated and causing problem. Replace them to solve tv issue. Also check dry solder connection nearby these chips, resoldering these solder connections will cure dry solder joints problem as well. Thanks.
pop the front strip under frnt of screen off. remove screws around back edge off screen and under the frnt of th screen. Usa a micro fiber cloth to clen screen.
All from the front. Pull off the bottom speaker grill. No screws just pull straight back. There are rubber post that hold it. Next remove the screws on the bottom of the screen assembly. With them off you should be able to slide the screen assembly up about 1-2 inches and take off. This model does have auto convergence so the screen may have wires hooked to the back. With the power off disconnect the leads before setting the screen assembly down. Cleaning should be with a plastic cleaner not windex. If you do have to remove screen parts it's fairly obvious. Be sure to reassemble the same order and make sure you have help these parts are delicate when separate.
Hi, much easier to access the front screens (there are 2 sandwiched together) by removing the top back cover, be prepared for lots of screws and when you get down to the last 2-3 screws get some help, on the inside of the back cover is a large mirror, some are made of mylar, do NOT clean or even touch a mylar mirror, the others are made of real glass and the back will be much heavier than you think (and very expensive if you break it)once the back is removed you should have access to the bug, good luck, video-tek
You can remove the screen, take the speaker cover off in the front you sould be able to see the screws that hold the screen on the bottom remove the screws and unplug the wire the goes to the screen fron the tv, you need two people one on each side just pop each side up about an inch and pull it off,
