One thing to try is deregestering your phone and registering it with the base again.

Hole the # and 'End' key on the handset until the next menu appears (about 5 seconds). Select deregister phone (use the 'Menu' button). Do it again, but select "base unavailable". After that, set them in the base (not the handset charger) and they should register with the base.

This works on most Uniden model phones.

When I held down the two keys the screen said handst out of range, then searching., then system reset deregister HS. I pressed the menu button and got handset out of range. There was no arrow to select deregister . After I presssed the nmenu button and tried again I got base unavailable. When I set the phone on the charfger it reverted to searcing on the screen. The other handsets read "silent mode on" Handsets 2 & 3 have dial tone. Handset 1 still doesn't have a dial tone. This phone is approx 1 year old. At times It goes blank in the middle of a conversation . When I open the back and reinsert the battery it worked but this time nothing. Guess I'll have to use handsets 2 & 3 and forget about handset 1. Would never buy

FINALLY I GOT THE DIAL TONEBACK. I disconnected the battery for a few seconds and then reconnected it again. Now the screen is stuck at "silent mode on". At least I have a dial tone. Will monitor to see what happens when the phone rings. THANKS TO ALL WHO PROVIDED A SOLUTION. WILL KEEP U UP TO DATE

This did the trick for me..deregister the base and select base not available, then set it on the base and a few seconds later I am good to go. Thanks

SOURCE: Uniden cordless phone. No dial tone.

Hi peddler65, did you plug your phone into another area to see if there is a dial tone. Then if not call the phone company or find the D-mark (where your dial tone ) comes into your home and put a jack on that and plug a phone in with all phones in the house unplugged.

Thanks.

SOURCE: No dial tone on handset

It may not be registed with the main unit. You may need to register the handset. With my uniden all i have to do is put it in the main base until it says what handset it is (it should be a number).

SOURCE: Uniden CXA15198 not showing caller id

Had a similar issue with a brand new DECT2035 uniden phone, displaying incoming call not caller ID.

Checked my old uniden phone, and it was receiving CID. So I connected my DECT2035 to that line and then lo and behold I got my CID.
After further investigation I found that CID on my dect phone wont work if its using a shared filter (ie. adsl/phone splitter). Had to find an unfiltered splitter and then just put a phone filter (that I got with my adsl modem) onto the line that is directly connecting the phone. and then WOOHOO I have caller ID.

Hope this helps you... I got my wife a little cranky over this one cos it took me over an hour and a half to try and sus this one out =)

My phone is stuck on rotary dialing. My handset had all the options but the dial mode. After caller id setup it went straight to languages and then started back over with ringer volume.

1) When the phone is in the standby mode, press menu/mute.
2) Press - to move the pointer to “Dial Mode”.
3) Press select/ch and the display will show the current setting.
(The initial setting is Tone.)
4) Press + or - to change the selection.
5) Press select/ch and a confirmation tone will sound.
6) Press end to exit.

Swicth from tone to pulse

1) When the phone is in standby mode, press and hold the caller id/menu key.
2) Press the vol/ / key three times to select Dial.
3) Press the select key to toggle between Tone and Pulse.
4) Press the end key or return the handset to the base unit to complete the setting. The handset returns to standby mode.

This phone also has a feature that allows you to use Pulse dialing to make calls, but allows you to switch to tone dialing for automated systems (like “Please Press 1 for English) here are the steps for that:

Initially make your call with the pulse dialing mode. Once your call connects, press
the */tone key. Enter the desired number. These digits will be sent as tone dialing.
Once the call ends, the tone mode is canceled and pulse dialing mode resumes.
