Try going to www.ibuyfireplaceparts.com 1-888-634-4289..They deal directly with the manufacturer and would be able to tell you if a conversion kit is available and how to go about ordering it

SOURCE: Natural Gas to Propane for Ge xl44 Gas range

The kit is located at the rear of the range right near the gas valve, there are probably 5 spuds and an extender for the large burner, directions are with the range. For the bake and broil you will need to tighten the brass orifice nuts down as tight as possible, also the brass nut on the gas valve needs to be reversed
your local LP dealer should be able to do this for you if you are uncomfortable doing it yourself.

SOURCE: Gas range burner flame too high and too yellow.

Did it work OK in that location before the changes?
Sounds like you used Natural gas parts instead of LP.
Lp orifices have smaller holes than Nat.

My vermont castings radiance model 2600 lp gas heating stove starts fine then after a few minutes rear flame goes out and flames start coming out bottom of stove

Dangerous! Don't relight until you have qualified person inspect it after they actually take it apart to look for the problem.
Sounds like major gas leak or faulty gas valve. Don't take a chance on it. don-ohio

Am looking for a propane burner for a vermont castings radiance 2600- you can't get the conversion kit from natural to propane- what can I do to get this to run on propane?

Unfortunately, as you discovered, there are no gas conversion for your Vent-free gas log stove. There are none available for any Vent-free supplemental gas heating product. And despite what others may tell you, there's more to the conversion, than just changing the pilot orifice. By the time you bought all the parts to safely do it, it wold have cost you more than you would want to spend. The bottom line is, it can not be done safely. And any attempts to convert and operate it, puts all the liability on you if something where to go wrong.

I wish I had better news for you. But, it's always best to err on the side of caution and safety, when dealing with gas fired products.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I bought a Vermont Casting Radiance Model 2240 Gas Stove 10 years ago. The fan makes a horrible noise. I have a manual, but the fan page says the fan is optional and page 1 is missing. Also page 2 is...

Finding an match to your Owners Manual is difficult at best. As, Vermont Castings has gone through 2 different corporate ownerships in 10 years. However, for the most part, their castings and the mechanics for the Radiance model have pretty much stayed the same. This gas stove was manufactured in a Vented and a more efficient Vent-Free model. The installation of the fan was different for each model. Since you didn't specify whether you have a Vented or Vent-free model have included the Owners Manual for both. Keep in mind, these manuals are for the stoves that currently being produced, but the installation is very similar. You will be removing the blower rather than installing it, so do everything in reverse.

If you need to replace the blower, you can purchase one from an authorized VC dealer in your area. To find one go to http://www.vermontcastings.com/contact.asp

Mr. Whaley, I hope this helps solve your problem.

if you know a lot about it you could convert it your self....you need to get rid of the Propane regulator....you need a Natural Gas Valve and you need to change the orifices....should be stamped on the rating plate the size of orifice for natural gas....I wouldn't recommend you do it yourself unless you have a license....or as I said know a lot about it...I wouldn't have a problem doing it in my own house...however you run into Insurance implications should anything happen if it's not an approved kit from the mfg.

Vermont Casting Radiance Gas Stove (RUVSOD) NG to Propane (LP)

Unfortunaletly, due to the delicate nature of vent-free appliances, you'll find that most are not field convertable. If the vent free appliance were to lose its efficiency, you would be subjected to high levels of CO, carbon monoxide, and could likely die. Therefore, field conversion is not recommended and in this case, not possible. Vermont Castings does not provide parts to convert and if they did you would be essentially replacing the entire unit short of the outer cast shell. I wish you luck.
