1998 chevy lumina would not start, but then did & now won't

After driving about 10-15 miles (both hwy and city), I stopped, turned off car, returned to car 15- 20 minutes later, it would not start after repeated attempts. It seemed to crank OK (but maybe rough (?)) but would not fire up. 15 minutes later, it started as normal and ran fine the rest of the day or 2. A few days later it started OK the first time that day and I drove a mile or less to the store, turned it off to go inside, and a few minutes later it started again OK. I drove another mile or two and turned it off. 1-1/2 to 2 hours later it would not start. Sounded the same as a few days before, but after waiting it would not start. I tried it again yesterday and then today. It would not start, but it cranks just the same as explained above. What are the chances a new fuel filter will fix it. I bought it March 2004 at a state auction; it was a police car. March 2008 (125,000 miles) replaced the engine, with a used Buick engine that had about 78,000 miles. At that time, also replaced spark plugs and wires, the idle control valve and the air filter. That was 5,000 miles ago. I replaced the air filter in the summer and I got an oil change about 1,000 miles (1 month) ago I have never replaced the fuel filter.

I have the same problem. It just started yesterday. I would turn the ignition and nothing would happen, just the dashboard lights up. I would try it a few times and same thing nothing. I would wait about 5/10 mins and then it cranks right up. I drive where I have to go...no problem. I come back after shutting the car off for a fem minutes to an hour and boom---nothing. It can't be the starter because I replaced it about 4 months ago. It can't be the alternator because I replaced that less than a year ago. What else can it be??

2009 Saturn Vue Hybrid 1400 getting 18 mpg instead of avg of 28

Do you normally accelerate quickly from stopped? You can increase your cars mileage by cutting down on rapid starts and stops. A comparable Honda Accord Hybrid rated at a higher 25city 37 hwy MPG rating achieves less than 22mpg when driven HARD

My 1998 chevy lumina brake lights won't light up when pressed. I have chaged all fuses and light bulbs. Am I missing any other place for fuses?

this would be a multifunction switch which turn signal switch wipers ect. run through located on steering column under plastic cover.assuming the brake light switch is good see if third brake light works when you press the pedal if so it is deffintly the multi switch.
