Look for a missing belt that may have burned off or broken. Was there a burning smell at some point before the roller quit turning? If so, the belt must be replaced. I would also look at the ends of the roller to see if there is any string, hair, etc. that might be binding the roller that needs to be removed.

Replace belt on Hoover savvy vacuum

There is not a brush belt on your model. It has a drive mechanism that turns the brush rolls.

Brush spins once then stops.

I don't know this machine but I'd check the bearings on the ends of the brush to see if they are spinning freely. If it has a drive belt try changing it, if it is an impeller drive check the vanes for damage.

By the way this machine I believe has a 5 year warrenty,

In Carpet mode brushes are not spinning.

Have you checked to see if it has a belt that drives the brush roller? If it has one it could have come off or broken. Also could be the control switch.

Suction/Brush not working

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here.
There are a couple of common reasons that your electrolux vacuum cleaner would appear to have lost it's suction. The first and most common is that it has actually broken a belt. If the belt is broken the brushes won't spin and it will not pick up dirt. It is easy to test simply turn the vacuum on, release the handle (as if you were about to vacuum carpet) and lift up the head and see if the brushes are spinning. If not i can supply you with a new belt.
If the brushes are spinning then your next most likely cause is that there is a blockage in the vacuum somewhere. Test this by turning machine on and checking the suction at the hose (as if your were going to vacuum the couch) if it is poor then remove hose and fish out blockage. If it is ok you may have a blockage between hose and the brush of the vacuum.
If it is neither of these problems i can trouble shoot over the phone if you live in Australia 0269215200 or by email [email protected]
Happy Vacuuming.. :)

Very loud click/catching noise - Dyson DC07Allergy

Take the sole plate off the brush bar (with a coin or a screw driver)compartment and check for blockages near the brush bar and make sure the brush bar spins round freely.
Its sounds like the clutch is slipping (it does this to protect it self from burning out when something is stopping the brush bar from turning)
A quick test is when in upright position turn the brush bar knob to off
(usally in drive postion) then try the user position again - the brush bar should not be turning and they should be no noise

Kenmore progressive Direct Drive Vacuum w/Hepa

Check the hose and dirt inlet for a blockage. Also the brush roll, check it to see if you can turn it or not by hand. If not, then something may have jammed it.

Dyson DC07 Original won't pick up at base

Hi,

Lie machine on its side pull back handle as if vacuuming & switch on (KEEP YOUR FINGERS & ANY LOOSE CLOTHING CLEAR OF BRUSH ROLLER)

Brush should spin if it doesnt ensure clutch control knob on side of machine is in drive position if it isnt rotate knob by hand to drive brush should now spin.

If it doesnt & your machine has A clutch either clutch will need replacing or belts will need replacing.

Manuals are available to replace belts & remove the clutch from this site http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/index.htm

Help

as the hose fits into the base (if i am correct) the power at the base should be fine, make sure the base is clean and free from blockage, you say the brush doesn't spin, has the belt broken, if so replace it, (very cheap) and only a couple of screws to undo, the roller not rotating will effect the power of suction dramatically, start from there and see how you go if i have helped please rate me
