Hello i have my laptop dell n5040 xp win installed also dowload idt high defenition audio but still audio sound not working what did to install i dont understand. please help

Completely remove whatever sound drivers you do have installed, restart, download this: http://ftp.dell.com/audio/R302718.exe

Once downloaded install the sound driver I have provided the link for. If it still doesn't work, please post back here with your DELL service tag. This can usually be found on one of the labels on the underside of the laptop. I may be able to help further if you can provide that information.
