SOURCE: CF card problem

A slightly similar experience in that a Memory Stick Duo inexplicably set itself to write protect. No matter what I did, I couldn't format it. I was forced to buy another card. If possible, test it with another card or two. If it happens with more than two or three cards, then I would suspect the camera.

SOURCE: flash Does not work. Can only take pictures in flash-off mode

The problem you are describing is a problem with the flash charging indicator switch inside the camera. It seems to have failed and needs to be replaced. Following are the instructions to send your camera to Olympus for service.

http://olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_servicerepair.asp

Olympus will charge a flat rate repair fee for this product if beyond the one year factory warranty or the warranty is voided. The cost is $83 plus your local sales tax. This covers parts and labor, factory cleaning and diagnostic check, 6 month warranty and the cost of shipping the product back to you is all included in that price.

I was trying to upload pictures from a Olympus VG-110 micro sd flash drive. and i couldn't see the files saved in it.. why is this happening? Then we put the back the disk in the digicam and after turning...

SD cards (and most microSD adapters) have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

And yes, formatting the card will delete all the pictures on it.

Memory card is alwasy flashing in D90

This indicates a problem with the memory card.

It may mean the card is corrupted and will have to be replaced. It's also possible that you may be able to fix it by formatting it.

You can format the card either through the camera menu or by simultaneously pressing the little trash can icon button at the top left on the back of the camera and the metering button on the top right next to the off/on switch.

Both are marked with red and show "format" in tiny letters. Press both buttons for 2 seconds. A flashing "FOR" will appear in the display. When it stops flashing, the card is formatted.

If there's a problem with the card, there may be some sort of error indication. If the card can't be formatted, it is corrupt and needs to be replaced.

If you have pictures on the card, they will be lost when you format it.

You might want to try to download any pictures from the card to your computer before you format it, but if the card is corrupt you may not be able to do that.

Olympus stylus 7030 flash problem

It could be circuit, capacitor or the flash tube itself? Digital cameras are so cheap now that buy a new one is a good choice.

Have "olympus sp 800uz" and

1. Put the SD card into the computers cardreader.
2. Connect the camera through USB with the computer .
3. Copy the pictures.

If you have trouble with the SD card:
1. Copy all the pictures to the computer.
2. Format the sd card in the camera.
3. Copy the pictures back onto the sd card.

When I'm recording video using my Olympus xz-1, i keep encountering "card error". Often, it happen after recording for > 2 min. is this my memory card problem or the camera problem.

Hello,
There is actually a very very big chance that it was the memory card. Your camera might have been having troubles writing data to the memory storage device such as the memcard itself due to corrupted files in it. Try to format the memory card to remove any sort of glitches, if it does the same, try a different memory card to see if it will do the same exact error.

How to use the panoramic function in my olympus 1050 SW.

I won't say it's in the manual.

Turn the selector to the square "camera" icon (just above AUTO).

Press the Menu button, select Panorama. Choose Combine In Camera 1.

Point your camera at the left or right side of whatever you are taking the picture of and press the shutter button. A flashing icon appears with arrows pointing left-and-right. Pan the camera left or right (your choice) as if to take the next shot in the panorama ... a blinking diamond appears and then a square box - keep moving the camera until the diamond enters the square box, the camera will automatically take the next photo. Move the camera again in the same direction, another diamond and square box appear and the photo is automatically taken as before.

To take another panorama shot, repeat this entire procedure, beginning with the Menu selection.

A red image pops up when I take a pic

I chose the DMC-TZ3A since I didn't know what the letter was at the end of the model number for your particular camera. If this is the camera

Here is a link to the manual

If not

Here is link to the Lumix series cameras

Pg 25 indicates that flashing red in the upper right corner is the battery needing to be recharged. If the battery was recently recharge and its turning red on the screen, it could be that the battery isn't holding a charge and may need to be replaced.

I didn't see any other error messages on the screen indicating that icon unless b,c, or d models have a different error message in that area of the screen.

Flash

I am having the same problem. For this indicator, the manual states "Camera movement warning/flash charge". I'm guessing that the flash is no longer functioning. Note you can force the flash to OFF and camera will function without a flash.
