Pretty sure both fans should turn. If the unit senses the fan not turning, it will shut down as you are describing. Try taking the label off of the fan so you can see the bearing, and put a couple drops of oil in there. This sometimes get them to turn freely again.

Most of them need a service tech to repair. Output IC or voltage regulator....

The one thing you may be able to check is the cooling fan, it should turn on hen the power button is pushed. Make sure it spins freely.

Most often it is the output IC

My Surround sound DVD player SC-PT450 is displaying the fault code 'F61'. I have a basic electronic knowledge. It says in the manual to check the speaker wiring, but I have removed all speakers and the...

Hi,

Panasonic error code F61 is for an output /power problem. Most likely it will need the output IC replaced. But check that the fan(s) are running a bad or stopped fan will also cause F61.

So the fan needs to be replaced. My system had the same problem and the fan was making a terrible noise. I had this repaired and the system is as good as new.It is better that you take it to the technician for the repair.Still then i am giving you little help.Remove the cover and use an air duster on the fan. This may not be enough so if you must, remove the fan (two screws + 2 clips) and pop it out of its housing. Dust the blades off and gently pull the fan away from its center as if you were trying to separate the two. There should be about a 2 or 3 mm gap there now. Dust that out and I even sprayed some lube (WD40) in for good measure. Put it all back together and make sure the fan spins and is quiet when you power up your system.

Or else that is if your fan is working fine then your iC needs to be replaced and it is best left to a technician and Panasonic is the only supplier that I know has the part.

If you have a repair shop repair the problem, the cost could be $150.00 or more to repair. It would surely solve your problem.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Repeated F61 fault code on Panasonic Home cinema system Model: SC-HT990 Is it the fan in the sub woofer?

Hello

F 61 error means the failure of FAN
most probably dust in the fan made it to stop working so clean the dust and connect the fan to an external supply of 12v(using red and black wire) for 5 minutes and reconnect it to the unit otherwise replace the fan with new one.
Surely this will solve the problem.

Kind regards
Andrea

I have an issue with Panasonic SA-HT545 Surround sound system and it keeps coming up with f61 problem and its not working now

I have a similar unit about 18 months old...just wouldn't start and gave me the F61 code. I opened it up and found that the fan on the back was not running properly...the fan's circuit feeds back info to the cpu that it is running...when not it shuts the system down. I powered the fan externally with a 20v power source and ran it for a while off the red and black wires (the yellow wire must be the feedback)and re-installed it. All is working fine...but I'll go out and buy a new FAN.

My panasonic turns on but shows the letter f61 what does that mean?

F61 just means 'power fault'
Generally a fault with either audio power amp ic (IC 501) or power supply ic (IC 502).

May also be the fan if it has one make sure it is clean and can spin freely.
Hope this helps. Thanks

Think I got it. Check your fan. Power it on and see if the fan spins for a few seconds and then stops. This is why mine kept giving me the F61 code and powering down. Remove the cover and use an air duster on the fan.

So far it's working for me. Good luck!

F61

Sound amplifier ic??******** this guy is talking out of his ***.
F61 relates to fan error. There are two fans, one of them is either spinning too slowly or not at all.
This fan can be purchased in any computer store. Just remove it and take it with you.
